Die BMW R 35 war ein Tourenmotorrad der 350-cm³-Klasse des deutschen Motorradherstellers BMW, das ab 1937 gebaut wurde.

Die R 35 wurde schon mit Hinblick auf den Einsatz bei Behörden, der Polizei und vor allem beim Militär entwickelt. Sie galt als ausgesprochen robust, zäh und überdurchschnittlich zuverlässig.

The R35 developed 14 horsepower and had a top speed of 100km/h. The frame was made from massive-looking pressed steel sections and the front forks were a modern telescopic fork. In contrast to the exclusive "Boxer" models, however, there was no hydraulic damping.

1998 Alfa Romeo GTV T. Spark 16v.

Last MoT test expired in June 2013 (SORN).

First night out with the 200 f2L

Renault R40

The Renault R40 is the direct evolution of the famous R35. It's main difference was the new suspension and undercarriage mechanism as the R35 ones proved to be fragile, even if the last R35 were equipped with the Sa38 gun it became the norm for the R40 giving it decent anti-tank capabilities.

These tanks were almost only used in june 1940 as they just started to be produced at the beginning of the german offensive. On a sidenote the Polish armoured division that fought along the French on the Rhone river was also equipped with these tanks. When all polish combattants received the order to reach Great-Britain the tanks were given back to French crews who used them in improvised but rather effective reconnaissance groups.

Renault R40

Le Renault R40 est l'évolution directe du Renault R35. Sa différence majeure était le nouveau train de suspension ainsi que le nouveau train de roulement remplaçant ceux fragiles du R35. Meme si les derniers R35 commençaient à recevoir des canon Sa 38 c'est devenu la norme pour les R40, leur conférent ainsi des capacités antichar décentes.

Ces chars furent presque uniquement utilisés en juin 1940 du fait du début de leur production au moment de l'offensive allemande. Par ailleurs la division blindée polonaise qui combattit au coté des forces françaises sur le Rhône était équipée de ce matériel. Quand les combattant polonais reçurent l'ordre de rejoindre la Grande-Bretagne ces chars furent reversés à des équipages français qui les utilisèrent dans des groupes de reconnaissances improvisés mais qui montrèrent leur efficacité.
