Bathed in the soft glow of dusk, the historic headquarters of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) stands proudly at the intersection of 17th Street and Rhode Island Avenue NW in Washington, D.C. A landmark of advocacy and architecture alike, this Romanesque Revival stone mansion commands attention with its turreted tower, arched windows, and intricate stonework. The warm interior lighting glows through large ground-floor windows, casting an inviting radiance onto the street, while pink blossoms along the sidewalk soften the bold stone façade with a flourish of springtime color.

A vibrant rainbow crosswalk and pride banners further signal this building’s cultural significance. As the largest LGBTQ+ civil rights organization in the United States, the Human Rights Campaign has transformed this stately 19th-century residence into a symbol of inclusion, progress, and resilience. Originally designed as a private mansion, the building’s distinctive architectural details—including its cylindrical turret, decorative cornices, and red slate roof—exemplify the enduring grandeur of Washington’s Dupont and Logan Circle neighborhoods.

This image captures the intersection of history and hope—where classic architecture meets modern social justice. Whether you're drawn in by the commanding beauty of the stone structure or the quiet dignity of its mission, this building reminds us how far the LGBTQ+ movement has come—and how rooted it remains in community.

Not sure what group this was, but it’s pretty cool.

SF Pride 2025

Throwback to June 2007 — Pride Scotia in Edinburgh, a celebration of queer joy, visibility, and the occasional cheeky uniform.

This young gent—clearly not one to hide his light under a bushel—was part of the fire safety presence that year - see photo below. Captured here in a candid three-part collage: thoughtful, laughing, and offering a profile that could stop traffic (or at least stall a parade).

The yellow hard hat may be regulation, but the twinkle in his eye? 100% Pride.

Purement Pride.

A message that is both funny and 💯 real. Spotted at Davis Pride. The wearer is formerly from Florida, and has, I suspect, an informed point of view.

Some pretty incredible face paint (and dedication to wear it at 96F [36C]).

Dazzling lights, thunderous applause, and pure charisma electrify the air at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco during the RuPaul’s Drag Race: Werq the World tour. Bathed in golden light, the stage pulses with high-octane energy as queens and dancers deliver a seamless blend of theatricality, fashion, and fearless self-expression. Against a backdrop of shimmering graphics and dramatic lighting, every move radiates confidence and empowerment—core values that define both the show and the global phenomenon it has inspired.

The Werq the World tour is more than a stage production; it’s a living celebration of drag as performance art. Each segment is choreographed to perfection, merging dance, lip-sync, and storytelling in ways that showcase the artistry of drag as a craft rooted in transformation and liberation. The crowd—diverse, devoted, and visibly moved—responds in kind, cheering and waving as if the room itself were a single, collective heartbeat. The connection between performers and audience feels electric, uniting thousands of people through shared joy and creative expression.

The production design, awash in gold and glitter, exemplifies the extravagance and precision that make RuPaul’s Drag Race one of the most visually stunning franchises in the world. Every sequin, light cue, and movement is calculated to amplify the magic of the moment. Yet beneath the spectacle lies something more profound: the resilience of queer culture and the unapologetic celebration of individuality. In San Francisco—a city long synonymous with LGBTQ+ pride—the performance feels especially resonant. The venue’s rich cultural history as a site of political rallies and musical revolutions only amplifies the night’s emotional charge.

From powerhouse performances to heartfelt moments of connection, Werq the World embodies the essence of drag: to inspire, to provoke, and to entertain without compromise. Each performer brings their own aesthetic and story to the stage, transforming it into a runway of possibility where identity itself becomes art. For many in the audience, it’s not just a show—it’s a reminder that visibility and authenticity can change lives.

Under the sweeping lights of the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, the queens command the stage with poise, humor, and defiance, proving once again that drag is not imitation—it’s innovation. It’s a movement, a mirror, and a megaphone all at once.

The 55th Annual San Francisco Pride parade

San Francisco Pride 2025 — there were approximately 50,000 people marching, and 250,000 in-person spectators.

… you must whip it….

… When something's going wrong,

You must whip it

Whip it good

The 55th Annual San Francisco Pride parade

San Francisco Pride 2025. This was my first time participating as a marcher in any Pride parade, and to have be in SF… well, that was one of the highlights of my life.

Eventually, there were 7 of us, but we were semi-officially attached to State Senator Scott Wiener's contingent, so we were in position 27 of around 210. This means we didn't have to wait too long to start the parade, and the crowd was still at the peak of fierce, joyful energy.

A message that is both funny and 💯 real. Spotted at Davis Pride. If people could do this, there wouldn’t have ever been a need for the protests that led to Pride.
