My pink 'Queen Elizabeth' hybrid tea rose, at the Roxborough Park Rose Gardens, Baulkham Hills, north-western Sydney.

This variety of hybrid tea rose is very highly awarded, having won the AARS (All American Rose Selection Award) in 1955, ARS (American Rose Society) Gold Medal in 1957 and the prestigious Golden Rose of The Hague in 1968. It was inducted into the World Rose Hall of Fame in 1979.

And, of-course, it now grows in the Hills District of Sydney!!

My Canon EOS 60D and a Canon 100mm macro lens, together with some editing voodoo magic in the room of light!!

Taken for the Macro Monday theme of stamp. As it is the Queen's platinum jubilee this year thought it was appropriate to post one of her silver jubilee! HMM!

All across the South West of England beacons were lit tonight to celebrate the 90th Birthday of Queen Elizabeth. The image depics the last embers towards the end of the evening.

I hope this is not me today playing golf on my 40th birthday(again) The Queen I heard likes this song....Me too your Majesty! Happy Birthday! Enjoy your weekend my friends! ~Sam

The Queen Elizabeth Botanical Gardens is located close to the Mountain View Cemetery, that I was also visiting. Over a two day period, both were targeted, while the weather cooperated. The most vivid colors tend to avail themselves given this time of year. But, it is also the light delivered that aids in revealing what is available.

Choosing to shoot just after the rain, and with dark clouds above, can give saturated colors. Soil is dark, wet leaves give their strongest colors, cloudy skies help prevent harsh shadows. The right combination of various weather features, help provide a marvellous opportunity to capture Autumn's best.

Handheld unsharpness, I was using the maximum zoom on the camera as binoculars to verify the name of the cruise ship moored way out in Weymouth Bay ... but photo taken when I saw a lone figure ... the only person I've seen on one of perhaps a dozen different huge passenger ships marking time out in the bay during this pandemic

Ken & I watched Queen Elizabeth's funeral and felt so sad. I think her funeral was as grand as her coronation was. What a way to go out. She was a grand lady! RIP HRH

We did an evening walk after work and kindergarten today to see the British aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth (R08) down in the harbour here in Oslo.

The carrier entered service in 2020 and can take up to 60 aircrafts! It is 284 m long and has 9 decks below the flight deck. Max speed is 32 knots (59 km/h) and total range is 10,000 nautical miles (19,000 km).

The Peace Tower in the Centre Block of the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa with the flag at half-mast during the mourning period for Queen Elizabeth II.

She graced our river in 2021 and we all are hoping she will be back soon.

We all are also hoping for peace in our dangerous world, so after the disruptions of Covid we can get back to something approaching normality.

... for my 'special day'

and for a peaceful Sunday for you all!

Rose 'Queen Elizabeth' in our garden - Frankfurt-Nordend

Queen Elizabeth came to Winnipeg in 2010 and so I ran down to our Government House in the hopes of catching a glimpse... her car was coming down the road way and I was perched on top of a fence... I could have run up to the car, but decided to behave and try and a catch a glimpse of her Majesty... she did see me and waved... I smiled back...

For the day that's in it, Queen Elizabeth II, the UK's longest-serving monarch, has died at Balmoral aged 96, after reigning for 70 years in the United Kingdom.

Thursday 8th September 2022.

Monday we went to Black River Marsh to spend time in nature. When we came back to the parking lot we saw this car with a cardboard cutout in the rear passenger side window. How could I not capture the moment for posterity?

I bought this from Neil Kerber (from Private Eye)- I thought it was funny.

I got an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in October. I think Neil Kerber probably offers one of these cartoons to everyone in the honours list that he can find an email address for. Anyway I liked it enough to grab the bait and buy it as a print. I will eventually find a spot on the wall for it! Nice to have something fun to remember the OBE.

Goodness knows when the inauguration ceremony will ever be. ...Sometime the other side of Covid for sure. ...looking forward to it.

Stephen B Whatley on location painting the central fortress at Her Majesty's Tower of London - The White Tower. This is one of 30 paintings commissioned from the artist for The Tower in 2000. In 2001, all 30 works became a permanent public exhibit reproduced throughout the main walkway to The Tower.

This painting, in completion, can be seen on this site.

Young children deal with tragedy and loss in different ways and many have latched onto the relationship that Queen Elizabeth had with Paddington Bear.

For those who don’t know it, the late Queen had a very individual sense of humour and was not averse to taking part in little comedic events as witnessed by her ‘James Bond’ film at the start of the London Olympics and also to the short film that was made for her recent Jubilee, featuring her entertaining Paddington Bear to tea at the Palace. If you have not seen it, just go to You Tube and enjoy!

Lots of small children have latched onto the Paddington Bear film and have left tributes to the Queen which are related to the film, including jars of Marmalade, Paddington Bear figures and drawings and quite a few have left marmalade sandwiches. This one was left at the cathedral for the Queen ‘to enjoy later’.
