The big guns from HiSky, Airbus A330, a wide-body aircraft prominently displaying the airline's vibrant livery, as it lands at Dublin Airport. This particular A330, operated by Romanian airline HiSky, is a new addition to their Bucharest-Dublin route for the summer of 2025, starting from June 1st. Typically, HiSky utilizes smaller aircraft like the A320 or A321 for this route, but the introduction of the A330 reflects the airline's response to increased demand during the peak travel season, offering greater capacity and enhanced comfort for passengers traveling between the Romanian capital and the Irish capital.

 

HiSky, officially known as HiSky Europe, is a Romanian airline founded in 2020, with its headquarters in Bucharest. The airline began operations in 2021, initially focusing on both scheduled and charter flights across Europe and beyond. HiSky has steadily grown its network, connecting Romania to key destinations while emphasizing affordability and quality service. The Bucharest-Dublin route, one of its popular offerings, caters to the growing Romanian diaspora in Ireland as well as tourists and business travelers. The route typically sees consistent demand, but the summer season often brings a surge in passengers, prompting HiSky to deploy the larger A330 to accommodate the influx.

  

The Airbus A330 in the photo is a significant upgrade for this route. The A330 is a twin-aisle, wide-body aircraft known for its long-range capabilities and passenger comfort, often used by airlines for intercontinental flights. For HiSky, this aircraft is usually deployed on their Bucharest to New York service, a transatlantic route that benefits from the A330’s range and capacity. The aircraft features a spacious cabin, typically configured with both economy and business class sections, offering amenities like in-flight entertainment and more legroom compared to the narrow-body A320/A321 series. By bringing the A330 to the Bucharest-Dublin route for summer 2025, HiSky ensures that passengers can enjoy a more comfortable and premium travel experience during the busy season, further solidifying the airline’s commitment to meeting evolving customer needs.

When FirstBus caved in and sought a corporate image only new vehicles with First's spec on interior trim gained the new 'Barbie' livery.

First Manchester utilised its new corporate era vehicles on specific routes and branded them 'Gold Service' which came with a customer charter, which to be fair, should really be for all services not just the ones that are busy.

The fleet also had some relatively new step entrance Darts and low floor vehicles that were either delivered before the Barbie buses or acquired secondhand. As the cost of re-trimming nearly new stock wasn't financially viable, these buses were given a yellow band in place of the blue on standard fleet livery and branded 'Quality Service', which was yet more corporate bollocks!

Former Timeline Travel Volvo B10L / Alexander Ultra 566 is seen on Bury Interchange showing off the livery variation. Interior wise it was exactly the same as when with its previous owner. As they say, you can polish a turd and roll it in glitter, but at the end of the day............

During my last visit to DCA I was only armed with my macro lens and no tripod. I was shooting neon details and it didn't take me very long to start thinking in terms of panoramas to fit in the length of the signs. The first couple panos I shot were linear but diagonal (unfortunately I didn't cover enough area to get a crop in that I liked). From there I started working kind of in circles in hopes that I'd be able to photomerge them later. I mentioned to a friend that I was fighting with Photoshop because I didn't include enough concise information and he suggested trying Hugin, a free panorama stitcher that allows you to add control points. I've been pleased with that program so far and I'm eager to re-try some of the frames that didn't work out.

Q116 comes in on #1 Main and is ready to cross over on 113 Track, staying lined through the yard at Shops.

First Manchester Dennis Dart 1121 stands on Wigan bus station proudly displaying it's new livery. Following the abandonment of the flourescent yellow stripe on the Superbus and Express fleets, a new yellow band appeared, In fact not one band, but two complete with a yellow flying 'F' at the rear.

This was Quality Service, the basis of which was the new Gold Service but using buses that were only a few years old and that didn't conform to the new corporate interior.

It was supposed to utilise the low floor Darts and B6LEs that had been delivered prior to the new corporate look but seeing as Wigan had a fleet of step entrance Darts that were still relatively new it was these buses that were selected for the Quality bus network, which incidentally were the 'Circulars' that introduced Darts to the town with the Orbit around Wigan brand.

The idea was short lived and the buses that were treated were soon transformed again with the introduction of the ghastly fade out Barbie 2 livery.

This meal is not just about sustenance; it's a testament to the exceptional service and culinary excellence that defines the Gran Class experience.
