CSX Q300 Builds its train in the light snowfall in Rocky Mount, NC.

We are in Richmond, VA on March 9, 1991, looking through the Norfolk Southern bascule bridge on their line to West Point. Running westbound on the former C&O James River Viaduct is eastbound CSX manifest R300 with two C40-8's. Confused? Q300 came eastbound into Fulton Yard on the former C&O. Once at Fulton, the power ran around the train and headed back west to Rivanna Junction and the former C&O Piedmont SD, then ran a short distance to AM Junction where it headed north on the former Seaboard to South AY interlocking on the RF&P. There it turned south on the former ACL enroute to Portsmouth, it's final destination. Add to that, helpers are required between Fulton and South AY interlocking. This move is still performed several times a day with everything from manifests to unit coal and grain trains. As information, R300 was a Chicago-Portsmouth manifest that carried parts for the Ford assembly plant at Norfolk. It was amazing at how fast all this could be done when it had to be.

This interesting duo made a few round trips on CSX Q300/Q301 in May 2006. Q300 is seen at Hillside, NJ near its destination in Oak Island Yard.

MPEX 5000 is a one-of-a-kind SD50M-3 that was rebuilt from ATSF SD45B 5501 in the late 90s. Based on the paint scheme, it was originally assigned to the DM&E and later wound up in the MPI lease fleet. It may still exist today as a test unit at MPI's Boise, ID facility.

It's hard to believe I was standing in a tshirt and shorts last night, and today required my winter coat and LL Bean Boots. Spring is a fickle beast, and as the morning wore on, heavy flakes began falling across northern Virginia as a late winter storm rolled through the area. Nobody seems to have told these Cherry Blossoms, as they were in full bloom, providing a sharp contrast to the blustery winter day. CSXT Q300 is rumbling north with tropicana juice cars on the head pin, not quite a hotshot, but certainly important with priority cargo behind the ED40 leader passing RO on the RF&P.

Westbound CSX mixed freight Q301 catches a sucker hole in the clouds at Langhorne, PA with some ominous looking skies looming on the horizon. While it looked impressive, no storm ever came.

After slowing to meet eastbound Q300, seen in the distance, westbound K162 begins to accelerate westbound with a BNSF SD70ACe leading the way.

On a gorgeous fall morning, CSX Q300-30 cross over Powell's creek with tropicana juice loads on the head end. With crew availability a major factor lately, there's no telling what a day on the RF&P might bring for CSX. The morning of October 31st was surprisingly busy for morning manifests, affording me the opportunity to walk away with a few keepers.

From the "we didn't know how good we had it" files...CSX Q300 was led by a consist of clean standard cab EMDs while passing through a snow-covered New Market, NJ.

CSX intermodal train Q272 rips through Woodbourne, PA. The speed caught me a bit off guard, but created a bit of an unintended pan shot, which worked well.

Sinds begin augustus is RTB CARGO druk met het rijden van stookolietreinen naar Antwerpen Rhodesië. Momenteel rijden meerdere beladen treinen per week naar Seatank om te worden ontdaan van hun lading.

Op 27 augustus arriveerde de 5e trein achter een Euro 9000, welke ook meteen de lastmile voor zijn rekening nam.

Vergezeld door de arm der wet werd de trein bij het inrijden van bundel Rhodesië vastgelegd. We zien hier de 2019 311 met zijn 18 ketelwagens vlak voordat Seatank terminal zou worden bereikt.

CSX EMD SD40M-2 #8317 leads eastbound Q300 through Yardley shortly before sunset on a warm spring afternoon.

A now classic leader on train Q418 or Q300. Things were a little different back in 2008, to say the least.

A veteran CSX GE leads a pair of BNSF GEs on westbound CSX loaded oil train K142 approaching Stony Hill Rd on CSX's Trenton Sub as the late summer sun begins to set.

Lady luck smiled on me! I wanted to capture a plane in the shot with the moon tonight but they were all in the wrong place as they passed over. This was the last shot that I took and as I was framing it........
