An albino Burmese python in a separate enclosure in the reptiles section in the Emirates Park Zoo near Samha in Abu Dhabi. The Burmese python is frequently captive-bred for colour, pattern, and more recently size. Its albino form is especially popular and is the most widely available morph. They are white with patterns in butterscotch yellow and burnt orange. Such white and albino pythons generally never occur in the wild as most of them are a result of man made genetic mutation and breeding. At any rate, with their white- yellow colour and total lack of camouflage, they could never survive in the wild. (Emirates Park Zoo, Samha, Abu Dhabi, Jan. 2015)

Found these egg-holders while looking for stuff to shoot in the kitchen. Combination of lighting for glass and off-camera flash techniques. Just love them curves :)

Loot! As a vintage guy, I had given up. Until I went to THAT thrift store. It was all there! T or C. Emily was hot.

I took Girl Scouts to Busch Gardens. I got to hold on to all the purses, drink bottles and cell phones while I took photos.

The Python is an old ride, much shorter and slower than most of the other coasters.

This is "Julius Squeezer" - Burmese Python

Julius is quite large, about 12 feet long and 65 pounds, according to his handlers. It takes three people to carry him safely. He is an animal ambassador at the SDZ Safari Park.

The Burmese python is one of the five largest snakes in the world, native to a large variation of tropic and sub-tropic areas of Southern- and Southeast Asia.

They are often found near water and are sometimes semi-aquatic, but can also be found in trees. They are also excellent swimmers, being able to stay submerged for up to half an hour.

Burmese pythons are carnivorous. Their diet consists primarily of appropriately sized birds, mammals

and vermin. IUCN has recently listed the Burmese python as "Vulnerable". Wikipedia

Water pythons are beautifully irridescent - photographing them at night with flashguns really brings this amazing quality to life.

An ultra-zoom into her head. Look at the scale patterns and reflection of me in her eye. My pet Ball Python, "Puff". She is about four feet long.

Python molurus bivittatus

An adult female from the Florida everglades.

This lovely lady is a Stimsons Python Antaresia stimsoni. The Stimsons python is a relatively small python in comparison with other Australian python species.

The Stimsons natural distribution range would probably be the largest distribution range of any Australian python. Within this huge distribution range there are several recognized morphs. These morphs were probably the result of environmental differences e.g. habitat, prey and climate differences, over thousands of years.

Generally speaking the Stimsons python is well suited as a captive pet. The temperament of these pythons is quite placid and besides the odd exception they are normally amendable to handling.

This lovely lady Roxanne belongs to the neighbours across the road from my parents. Trev has had her for about 12 years now and in that time she has grown quite a bit!

Workshops for PHP developers who want to switch into Python!

This VFD module came with the spec sheet - it's still made today! It interfaces through 5V TTL logic, and we were able to drive it through a PC parallel port.

I wrote a tool in Python to drive the display using the python-parallel library on Xubuntu. It was a fun day's project :)

The Snake Farm or Queen Saowapha Memorial Institute, formerly the Pasteur Institute, is set up to produce anti-venom serum for snake-bite victims nationwide. Venomous snakes including the king cobra, Siamese cobra, Russell's viper, banded krait, Malayan pit viper, green pit viper and Pope's pit viper are milked daily for their venom to make snake-bite antidote.

Had this " little " fella wrapped around my neck...

A Diamond Python or Carpet Snake crossing the road on the way to work. These snakes are becoming rare due to predation by Foxes and habitat loss.

Taking some photos, I noticed injuries caused by an unknown animal and realised that he needed some medical attention.

After some excellent co-operation between DELWP and Parks Victoria with assistance from James, Kerry, John, Tom, Wes and Mark, the snake is now on his way to the Vet for some TLC and will then be cared for by a local wildlife carer before being released back where he was found.

It used to be my worst nightmare, but I thought it was lame this time.

Very misunderstood like many other creatures. Snakes actually are not slimy, at least not this one! They have a beautiful nice-to-touch, shiny coat. My son likes to play with this a lot though it weighs him down. He, I mean, the snake is pretty big.

Python went under the electric fence, swollowed an Impala, went back under the fence much larger & got shocked, turned, bit the fence & got shocked to death.

Indian python, also known as black-tailed python and Indian rock python is a large nonvenomous python. The species is limited to Southern Asia. It is generally lighter colored than the Burmese python and reaches usually over 9 feet in length.

Lethargic and slow moving even in its native habitat, they exhibit timidity and rarely try to attack even when attacked. They are very good swimmers and are quite at home in water.

These snakes are carnivore animals and they feed on mammals, birds and reptiles indiscriminately, but seem to prefer mammals. After a heavy meal, an individual may fast for weeks, the longest recorded duration being 2 years!

Hope you enjoyed!

A beautiful 3 year python.

She is absolutely gentle and the little time which I spent with her was an experience beyond imagination. She really showed me the gentleness and grace of nature.

Ecco il mio super Mojave nella sua nuova casa..

I popped into town today (Saturday) and while on The Moor, I noticed a couple collecting money for the Thornberry Animal Sanctuary www.thornberry-animal-sanctuary.org/index.php and the man had a snake! So I just had to go and investigate. Apparently she's his own pet snake, and it a type of python which is friendly and won't harm you. She has beautiful markings and her skin was incredibly smooth, like a highly polished wooden floor! She's about 5ft long. She seemed very happy to investigate by flicking her forked tongue. I've always wanted to touch a snake, and now I have! Lovely.
