We were at the boulevard the other day where a man had his Albino Burmese Python out for some sun and fresh air. My girls got quite a kick out of it-I did too!

This is "Julius Squeezer" - Burmese Python

Julius is quite large, about 12 feet long and 65 pounds, according to his handlers. It takes three people to carry him safely. He is an animal ambassador at the SDZ Safari Park.

The Burmese python is one of the five largest snakes in the world, native to a large variation of tropic and sub-tropic areas of Southern- and Southeast Asia.

They are often found near water and are sometimes semi-aquatic, but can also be found in trees. They are also excellent swimmers, being able to stay submerged for up to half an hour.

Burmese pythons are carnivorous. Their diet consists primarily of appropriately sized birds, mammals

and vermin. IUCN has recently listed the Burmese python as "Vulnerable". Wikipedia

Relocated this one off the busy Arnhem hwy, a very friendly and curious snake and calm around me. One of my favourite snakes

The ball python or python regius is a nonvenomous python species found in Africa. This is the smallest of the African pythons and is popular in the pet trade, largely due to its typically docile temperament. No subspecies are currently recognized.

The name ball python refers to the animal's tendency to curl into a ball when stressed or frightened. The color pattern is typically black or dark brown with light brown or gold sides and dorsal blotches. The belly is a white or cream that may include scattered black markings.

This python is known for being a picky eater and may not eat for months, particularly during the winter breeding season. Ball pythons will not eat when they preparing to shed.

This python was minding its own business, coiled up in the water below, when our local creature spotter (in green) took a hefty stick and lifted it out, the better for us to see. He put it down on the bank of the stream, but this seemed the better action shot.
