‘BAZZA PUSHBACK’
‘Bazza’ as AB607 to Newcastle (NTL/YWLM) being pushed back from the gate by my good mate Josh at Sunshine Coast Airport (MCY/YBSU) on whats become a ‘typical Sunshine Coast’ overcast day…
Patience
What a difference 2 days make, an absolute fail the 10th and succes the 12th. Finally got a descent of the Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix F1 Special livery Airbus A340-600 at Schiphol Airport.

Wonderful to see the amazing Condor 767 so close! The beauty is seen here right after pushback, getting ready for taxi. Departing back to Frankfurt as DE2343. Impressive to see the giant 767 so close, right at the tarmac in Recife! Photo taken handheld.

‘WORLDWIDE SERVICES’ - UPS
UPS33 after pushback and disconnect awaiting final checks before the short taxi to 16R Sydney Airport (SYD/YSSY) for the flight up to Shanghai PVG/ZSPD)…
Emirates A380 at the Düsseldorf Airport right after pushback waiting for it's taxi clearance. The tiny guy in front is demonstrating the vast scale of this aircraft. Shot from the airport's observation deck straight against the sun.

An engineer watches JM's no.2 engine during startup. It's always nice when Qantas sends their older RB211-powered 747-400s to San Francisco.
An airport procedure during which an aircraft is pushed backwards away from an airport gate by external power. Pushbacks are carried out by special, low-profile vehicles called pushback tractors or tugs. (Wikipedia)
Korean Air 024 pushes from A11. The 747-8i is a truly beautiful aircraft; hopefully, more customers buy them but it's not looking good.

Enter Air Boeing 737-800 SP-ESG ready to pushback from stand 30L at Glasgow after dropping off some Rangers FC football supporters.
Qantas Airways Boeing 747-438ER - VH-OEJ wearing the special decals of Qantas Socceroos World Cup~~
Apparently, this is the last flight for Qantas 76 from YVR-SYD, this photo was taken at the rainy day during pushback~~
After pushback from Gate A3, Air France 083, the A380 on the left, begins starting engines at Mike 1 while Air France 082, the 777 on the right, begins taxiing to A3 via M2. The A380 ended up needing to return to a gate, and had to taxi across the airport to G101 as the two A380 gates on A were occupied.
N1033F - one of five McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30CFs that Overseas National Airways used in the 1970s - seen on push back at London Gatwick.
I really liked the ONA DC-10s and it was disappointing to see the airline vanish from the Gatwick scene early on in my 'career' as an aviation enthusiast. This aircraft was only with the airline a relatively short time, being sold in October 1978.
The ONA DC10s seemed to be jinxed, as four were written off either with the airline, or when sold to other airlines:
N1031F w/o with Saudia in 1975
N1032F w/o with ONA in 1975
N1033F w/o with Korean Airlines as HL7339 in 1983
N1034F w/o with Spantax as EC-DEG in 1982

Almost ready to taxi for a short flight to TXL!
Funny fact is my girlfriend performing safety demonstrations at this time of the pushback ;)
'Parkes' as Qantas 73 to San Francisco (SFO/KSFO) through pushback, taxi and departure 34L Sydney Airport (SYD/YSSY) - and that was the end of the light for the afternoon... Brilliant sunshine to ‘blah’ in the space of about 10 minutes! 😂😂

Two of the best liveries of the 1980s. TU-TCF Air Afrique stretched Douglas DC-8-63CF pushes back in front of Thai International Boeing 747-2D7B HS-TGG at Roissy (Paris - Charles de Gaulle).
TU-TCF 'Ndjamena' c/n 46135 - Douglas DC-8-63CF - delivered new to Air Afrique in 1970, and flew with the airline for 20 years. One of the last of 556 DC-8s to be built as production ceased early in 1972. Sold to Arrow Air in 1991 as N784AL, the aircraft flew another 18 years, only being withdrawn in 2009, and broken up the following year in Miami. An amazing 39 year lifespan!
HS-TGG c/n 22471 'Sriwanna' Boeing 747-2D7B was delivered new to Thai Airways International in Mar 1981, the last of six series 200s that the airline operated. The aircraft flew with the airline for 16 years before being sold to Atlas Air in 1997, and converted to a freighter, registered N527MC. After flying as a freighter for another 11 years, the aircraft was written off in an accident at Lome, Togo, on 02 Feb 2008.
