In aviation, pushback is an airport procedure during which an aircraft is pushed backwards away from an airport gate by external power. Pushbacks are carried out by special, low-profile vehicles called pushback tractors or tugs. The photo shows a UA plan during pushback operation.

"Transat (TSC) 44" departing for the paint shop in Spokane, Washington this afternoon, as the first flight since November 2022 for this A321LR. Having undergone major repairs after the aircraft collied with the pushback while under tow after the towbar failed and bent in half. Repairs were finished months ago but P&W engine issues had kept this aircraft grounded here for over a year. Nice to see it finally take flight again and close out this 15 month long saga.
