Seen shortly after pushback from the Qantas Domestic Terminal in Brisbane (Queensland), is this Disney Planes liveried Boeing 757-338 (ER) of Qantas.
Next stop is Perth on a 4 hr flight to the West Coast of Australia.
With a delayed (an hour plus) pushback complete, tug disconnected and ground staff walking away, UPS 35 to Singapore (SIN/WSSS) is about to get underway along Alfa, and for a 34L departure at Sydney Airport (SYD/YSSY) - As I knew the FO (and his son back in Louisville) I tried, but the delay was just TOO much and this was the best I got! 😂

The view from Car Park 2
A nice view of a visiting TAP Boeing 747 as CS-TJB makes a fairly rare appearance in lieu of the usual Boeing 727 or 707. And I am sure it is ''TJB, as although I saw TAP 747s on a number of occasions at Heathrow, it was always 'TJB, and NEVER 'TJA - argghhh! A good view of the entrance to the cargo tunnel also. Happy days ;)
CS-TJB c/n 20502 - Boeing 747-282B was originally delivered to TAP Transportes Aereos Portugueses May 1972, and flew with the airline until October 1984. The aircraft was then sold to TWA as N302TW and flew with TWA another nine years. It was then sold again, this time to Tower Air as N611FF. The aircraft was scrapped around 2005.

(Auszug Wikipedia)

In aviation, pushback is an airport procedure during which an aircraft is pushed backwards away from an airport gate by external power.
Pushbacks are carried out by special, low-profile vehicles called pushback tractors or tugs.
Although many aircraft are capable of moving themselves backwards on the ground using reverse thrust (a procedure referred to as a powerback), the resulting jet blast or prop wash may cause damage to the terminal building or equipment.
Engines close to the ground may also blow sand and debris forward and then suck it into the engine, causing damage to the engine.
A pushback is therefore the preferred method to move the aircraft away from the gate. (From Wikipedia)

Two of the best liveries of the 1980s. TU-TCF Air Afrique stretched Douglas DC-8-63CF pushes back in front of Thai International Boeing 747-2D7B HS-TGG at Roissy (Paris - Charles de Gaulle).
TU-TCF 'Ndjamena' c/n 46135 - Douglas DC-8-63CF - delivered new to Air Afrique in 1970, and flew with the airline for 20 years. One of the last of 556 DC-8s to be built as production ceased early in 1972. Sold to Arrow Air in 1991 as N784AL, the aircraft flew another 18 years, only being withdrawn in 2009, and broken up the following year in Miami. An amazing 39 year lifespan!
HS-TGG c/n 22471 'Sriwanna' Boeing 747-2D7B was delivered new to Thai Airways International in Mar 1981, the last of six series 200s that the airline operated. The aircraft flew with the airline for 16 years before being sold to Atlas Air in 1997, and converted to a freighter, registered N527MC. After flying as a freighter for another 11 years, the aircraft was written off in an accident at Lome, Togo, on 02 Feb 2008.

I've always been a big fan of airport vehicles, in particular the big-wheeled aircraft movers. Building them without a plane to push around isn't as much fun though. But since that's not a problem anymore, here's a little tow tractor for the Airbus, very loosely based on a TLD Tmx-250.
This is a Goldhofer AST-2 towbarless aircraft tractor - obviously the most comfortable way to move an aircraft around.
The AST-2 is Goldhofer´s third largest pushback truck. It is capable of pulling aircraft with a weight of up to 300 tons.
