There is some prime real estate at Bicheno on Tasmania's east coast. A small population of under 1000 people, and some of the cleanest water in the world. The people who have lived here for years are sitting on gold.
Property values have risen over 20 percent in the last year alone and houses sell before they are even listed (often to foreign investors). This is all being fueled by historically low interest rates and tax breaks (which in Australia we call negative gearing). The problem is that the boom in house prices is happening everywhere, so you sell high here and you pay plenty somewhere else.
With inflation on the rise (though governments are fudging these figures low - the cost of living has gone through the roof), and a market correction on the way - especially in the wake of recent events - it is inevitable interest rates will rise. And what happens then? But sadly, it is harder than ever in history for young people to buy their own house. And who can afford these ocean views? Not me.

PUBLIC NOTICE :: Please be advised that ever since the sex offender and most likely rapist accosted me in my own yard, I do videotape **ONLY SUSPICIOUS** cars and vehicular activity that occurs on what the Law, the last Sheriff's Deputy ever here deemed "public access", i.e. the road. This action is being taken as an "in case anything happens" measure for the expressed purpose that SHOULD anything happen to me, someone who DOES give a damn about the health and welfare of women can use those images as evidence.
AS TO WHAT'S GOING ON HERE :: One of two small red cars (one being a Chevy Cavalier or very close) that have been stalking this house for a year stopped and had a chat fest with the Pickens County Georgia public works road crew when they were "working" the street.. I spent that day and the next in backyard busting my back undoing ten years of decline.. That was a Monday.. That following Wednesday, two days later, I was out front to mow down by the road.. Lo and behold, my second driveway is GONE.. Demolished.. Missing..
NOT THE FIRST TIME that driveway came under attack.. An unknown male with a bulldozer/front end loader took three swipes at it about a year ago effectively blocking access.. Sheriff's Deputy came out and stood there while the driveway was put back in operational order. Have never asked for it but took enough time out of the Deputy's day AND taxpayers' precious dollars, there should be a case number that goes with..........
THINGS TO NOTE :: NO, I have ABSOLUTELY NO FREAKING CLUE who is behind this *NOR WHY* other than all activities of violence, including gunfire and explosive devices (NOT FIREWORKS), can be tied to other properties stalking vehicles frequent.. Those cars showed up right in and around time I was accosted on this property by a male sex offender on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at approximately 2:00pm.
The sex offender tried every excuse he could muster to get INSIDE house before finally becoming agitated at my refusal. He then suddenly dropped his pants and performed a lewd act in broad daylight with CHILDREN PLAYING no more than 50' away in the street.. That sex offender REMAINS AT LARGE at this time.
Also of note is that the barn that driveway went to appears to be of "interest" to locals as was caught on video when someone who introduced himself as a "neighbor" approached me regarding it a couple weeks back.. As I further write this up, comes back to mind that one of the things likely rapist did was ask/observe something very close to, "Sure is secluded [in your yard], isn't it?"
Vehicle sex offender originally drove was a newer model red Chevrolet truck king cab with very high profile shiny rims. Tied to same properties as small passenger vehicles now continuing the abuse/terrorism.
UPDATE 2012.04.22 Realized I may not have somewhere in all this stated that yes, Commissioner Robert Jones (Jasper, Pickens County, Georgia) was in person aware of this missing driveway. I contacted his office upon the recommendation of Representative Tom Graves' office personnel in Gainesville, Georgia.
Commissioner Rob Jones and an unknown male came here to the property the very day I found the driveway gone. We all three looked at the gaping hole where the driveway once stood. Commissioner Rob Jones then verbally and on the spot determined that it would be replaced with a standard 20' driveway lined up to the barn that appears to somehow be playing its part in all this. It was such a phenomenally rapid response, I tweeted my joy at the same that same day.
My part of the job was to trim back overgrowth so the public works crew COULD line up the driveway. I did that the very next day. It was on that day that I was approached about the barn by a stranger. The camera had been running while I did the tree trimming. Nothing else directly related to replacing the driveway has occurred since.

This young lady is holding a sign that states the issue perfectly !!!
Those who are the white-collar criminals in the economic crisis should be jailed - for the reason her sign states!
"Help they stole our future"
Yes they did.
They drank champagne and ate steak and lobster while stealing our children future both economically and environmentally.
These greedy jerks are the same as mass murders but don't have the blood stains on their hands.
occupyaugusta.org/occupy/wp-content/lg-gallery/October%20...
The kids were great - and I think they really understand the importance of the movement.
The children understand because it's their future that had been hocked by the greedy elite power structure between bankers, traders, agents, politicians and others who created the economic crisis then jumped out with millions of dollars in golden parachutes.
Check out this OccupyAugusta video by Jane Pietkivitch
She shot and edited video from the Occupy Augusta march on downtown on Saturday (10-15-11).
The OccupyAugusta movement is doing a fantastic job coordinating and the enthusiasm is no less that in New York

OccupyAugusta did an impressive job on Sat., Oct. 15, 2011 as they marched on downtown Augusta protesting the evil greed that created the current economic crisis.
The bankers, Wall Street traders, insurance industry, politicians proved they cannot be trusted when left to their own devices when the Bush administration made oversight almost nonexistent.
And sure enough when the foxes were in charge of the hen-house it was a slaughter of American jobs, the evaporation of retirement funds, a flood of home foreclosures, sending the world economy into crisis.

These photos depict homes, building and abandoned structures along Martin Lutheran King, Jr. Boulevard in Augusta, Georgia.
It began with research in Athens and Augusta (Georgia) through the University Of Georgia School Of Environmental Design.
Research was led by Dr. Mary Anne Akers in collaboration with Georgia Legal Services Program, Georgia State Trade Association of Non-profit Developers (G-STAND) and Neighborhood Works America, INC.
“Claiming A Street Named King” Project study in Augusta, Georgia – conducted along Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard - shows areas that need economic assistance – and that’s the same issue in many American cities that have streets named for civil rights leaders

Pictured holding a "Corporate Greed" sign during the Oct. 15, 2011 Occupy Augusta march is community activist Rev. Terence A. Dicks of Augusta, Georgia.
Rev. Dicks is the Southern Regional Organizer for the Progressive Democrats of America and its State of Georgia coordinator.
He also holds positions in the Richmond County Democratic Party.

The photography from One Tree Hill Vista Point in Greenwich Park shows view of London Canary Wharf on the Isle of Dogs
Greenwich Park is a former hunting park in Greenwich and one of the largest single green spaces in south-east London. One of the Royal Parks of London, and the first to be enclosed, it covers 74 hectares, and is part of the Greenwich World Heritage Site. Wikipedia
More London events and attractions have been canceled, and other venues have temporarily closed.
In the past visitors walk from the modern London Eye to the historic Tower of London and the top tourist attractions. Many London landmarks are free to visit, while others are available with discounted entry or special offers.
There are plenty of kid-friendly places to visit in London unique the park and gardens
If you are planning to travel to London for the first time, you are probably wondering how much time you need in London.
For first-time visitors, I recommend spending at least 4 to 6days in London. This should give you sufficient time to get familiarized with the city, see the main landmarks, visit a few attractions, and planning what to see in London next time.
More London attractions are currently closed due to coronavirus; you can still enjoy plenty of London attractions with virtual tours, live webcams, or visit websites like wheretogoinlondon.com or visitlondonevents.com/.
London is one of the world’s most visited cities, and with good reason: it’s home to so many iconic attractions that you can quickly fill a vacation checking items off your lifelong bucket list.
You can still take photos with Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, the modern London Eye, the historic Tower of London and other top tourist attractions.
Don’t try to see ‘everything’ in London. This is not possible if you are the first time, you will be tired and frustrated. One of the biggest mistakes while visiting London is not to plan your visit.
Often tickets for the main attractions are cheaper if booked online, for example for Madame Tussaud’s, the London Eye, special exhibitions or musical and theatre in London.
London is also a big foodie paradise.
The cheapest thing you can do in London is to visit the many free museums around the city. Many of the museums in London are in South Kensington on Exhibition Road and are close together.

Headless corpses, missing limbs, and rotting flesh were just some of the ghoulish sights seen on London streets for an annual zombie march through the city.
Hoards of people stepped out in their best un-dead garbs to traipse through the capital for London's World Zombie Day event.
According to the organizer of the Zombie march, they are raising money for charity City Harvest London.
The charity collects any extra food that would otherwise go to waste from different areas of the food industry.
They then drop off the food at various organizations that feed vulnerable people. These include homeless shelters, soup kitchens, and refuges.

Pictured is Carol French of Bradford County who appears in www.tripledividefilm.org. She's a property owner who signed a lease in 2006, was negatively impacted, and when the lease expired in 2011 would not allow the gas company back on her property, nor would she sign another lease with anyone else. In her own words, "I have had my water tested prior to drilling by a Hydro geologist. I want our state agency (DEP) to do the test without any influence from the gas companies. I will provide info later showing how the gas companies are truly influencing the reports and what is disclosed to the "clients" I also requested a splint sample done with my hydro geologist & DEP………….. so far no go! Even when you find out what is in your water, what do you do? The filtration systems don’t take all of the chemicals out. Do you sell your property for a third of its value? Then it’s time for a Reality check……….. Where do you go, how can you afford it? Wasn’t your homestead worth fighting for? This could happen again….. This is some of the questions that run through your head when dealing with water contamination!" © J.B.Pribanic

The OccupyAugusta movement is doing a fantastic job coordinating and the enthusiasm is no less that in New York
www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=302389719777944
OccupyAugusta did an impressive job on Sat., Oct. 15, 2011 as they marched on downtown Augusta protesting the evil greed that created the current economic crisis.
The bankers, Wall Street traders, insurance industry, politicians proved they cannot be trusted when left to their own devices when the Bush administration made oversight almost nonexistent.
And sure enough when the foxes were in charge of the hen-house it was a slaughter of American jobs, the evaporation of retirement funds, a flood of home foreclosures, sending the world economy into crisis.

With a train track instead of a babbling brook.. But - you take what you can get, or what you can afford, and this is the view southeast from my property line.
Well, technically, my property line is about 3 feet past the top of the far side of the concrete-lined ditch in the foreground. So, this is my ditch, and I'm standing under my power lines - none of which seem to have any effect on my property values. At least, that's what the Appraisal District told me when I protested the increase in my property valuation last year.
The odd thing is, I am 1000% sure a real estate appraiser would have a very different opinion. Ooo.. Open ditch.. Drainage right of way.. RIGHT next to a very busy railroad track.. Power utility right of way.. Tsk, tsk, tsk....
But the County Tax Appraisal Board used comps that had none of these issues to put a valuation on mine. When I asked if they didn't think they had any bearing, they simply asked "Was it there when you bought the house?" (30 years ago..). I sadly wasn't quick enough to retort "It was - and that's PRECISELY why I was able to afford to buy *MY* house, and not the one a mile away that you're comparing it to now.
Needless to say, I got no relief and no satisfaction whatsoever from my protest. But now that I have a better idea what to expect in the way they manipulate people, perhaps I can be better prepared next time.
It seems to me that having the drainage easement 100% inside my property lines and making that land utterly useless to me should at least change the square footage that I'm taxed on - and that's a lot, since the ditch is on the long side of my pie-shaped property. That side is about 300 feet long, and the easement is something like 25 feet wide. That's 7,500 square feet that's not only an eyesore, but also unbuildable, unusable, and actually dangerous. I should make 'em put up a fence, right?

With the hyper-gentrification of Venice California, this townhome project can be yours for about $4,000,000. The auto vandalism is free and elegant. Media giant Google is down the street and Snapchat recently arrived. Who needs a car when you can bike to work? The gable roofs and brightly colored exterior provide a distinctive difference among the mostly anonymous boxes being built in a newly vibrant Venice.

The photography from One Tree Hill Vista Point in Greenwich Park shows wide view of London from Elephant and Castle to the City of London during sunset–May-21-2019
More London events and attractions have been canceled, and other venues have temporarily closed.
