United Way of Allegheny County hosted Fred Rogers Good Neighbor Day at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater. On what would have been Mister Rogers’ 84th birthday, United Way honored the companies, agencies and volunteers who make an impact in our community.
Good Neighbor Day acknowledges the participation in and dedication of corporations who demonstrate excellence in workplace volunteer programs. The following companies were honored:

Program from Seasons of Dance, the Ann Arbor Dance Classics Recital from June 12th, 2004. Started a project to scan and share all sorts of documents - I have a good number of these programs from over the years.
Held at the Richmond KPU Campus on April 12, the Foundations in Design Year End Show, is an exhibition of select work from the Foundations in Design program, and a celebration of the students' achievements over the last eight months.

O principal objetivo do programa “Mais Médicos” é reduzir as desigualdades de saúde ampliando o “Programa Saúde da Família” reduzindo as disparidades no acesso a serviços de saúde de qualidade que continuam atingindo grande parte da população brasileira. O Programa é congruente com o plano Nacional de Desenvolvimento do Brasil 2022 o que vai acelerar os avanços nas realizações das metas dos Objetivos de Desenvolvimento do Milênio da Nações Unidas.
Até o momento o Programa Mais Médicos conta com 14,168 médicos, do qual 11,429 são administrados pela OPAS. Os médicos que participam do programa trabalham em 3,785 municípios e 34 comunidades indígenas. O programa Mais Médicos atende a uma população de mais de 48.6 milhões de brasileiros e conta com uma cobertura de 100% de todos os municípios que se aplicaram para o programa.

Cynthia Oliver Coleman (EWeek Committee Outreach Chair) gives an overview of the outreach competition. The participating outreaches to Houston Area K-12 Schools are: 1) Robotics by UH MAES, 2) NSBE Jr. Engineering Design Challenge by UH NSBE, 3) Engineering=Fun by UH SASE, 4) TEAMS: Engineering Healthier Lives by UH SHPE, and 5) Launch Into Engineering by UH SWE.
California Minority Counsel Program presented the "Even the GC Needs an Elevator Pitch" event in San Diego at the Energy Innovation Center on August 5, 2013, sponsored by San Diego Gas & Electric and Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton. Attendees heard from a CMCP panel of experienced attorneys on the value of having a succinct description of what they do. This event was a great interactive opportunity for the attendees to build their legal network while practicing their own elevator pitch in an inclusive, supportive & fun environment.
NCDs Program supported by Dotdash Meredith India
As part of management of NCDs, Trinity Care Foundation with CSR support from Dotdash Meredith India has initiated a public health project in a Government PHC in Ramanagara District, Karnataka with focus on Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) and Oral Health. This project has the potential to significantly reduce cardiovascular care and oral health disparities and improve community awareness for the marginalized.

Brighter Bites is a collaborative effort designed to improve access to healthy, affordable food and provide nutrition education. The University of Texas School of Public Health, KIPP Schools, the Houston Food Bank and Texas Children's Hospital have partnered to offer the 16-week program to third-grade children enrolled at KIPP Explore Academy and their parents. As you can see from the photos, those healthy kale smoothies are a hit!
