Today, Friday November 15, the Steam into History program operated both the Leviathan and the York on trips from New Freedom to Hanover Junction, PA. Here is the first shot of the day, the 63 heading north along the bike trail at Railroad, PA (no kidding!). I chased the morning run north with the 63 pointing north and the 17 running light behind pointing south. At Hanover Junction they swapped roles and the 17 led the train south with the 63 running close behind. Not full sun but decent bright hazy/partial sun, a few of the last leaves of autumn to add some color.

Designed by San Francisco architect Willis Polk, the beach Chalet opened to the public in 1925 with a lounge and changing rooms on the ground floor and a restaurant above, providing diners with magnificent views of the Pacific Ocean. The extraordinary murals, mosaics, and wood carvings were added in 1936 as part of a federal works program. A few years later the building was pressed into wartime service as a barracks for the troops operating a nearby signal station. Today, the building and the art treasures welcome visitors from around the world to explore Golden Gate Park.

The European University Cyprus Orientation Program is designed to welcome new students to the University community, facilitating the process of settling into a new and unfamiliar environment. Orientation days are organized every semester, two weeks prior to the beginning of classes. This picture was drawn by hand without a subject model save the owl from a picture of an owl found online. A pencil sketch was finished in ink and enlarged and duplicated at a printing company for coloring. It also served as a concert poster and advertisement of a company function.
