As part of Sister Nivedita’s 150th Birth Anniversary Celebrations, Smt. Rajeswari Sainath, an internationally renowned artist, and her troupe performed a ballet on river Ganga by name Swachchha Ganga (A River with a Soul) in our Vivekananda Auditorium. Sushri Uma Bharati, Hon’ble Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation was the Chief Guest of this function.

During after-hours tour, artists and educators Filip Noterdaeme and Paula Stuttman facilitated a conversation about the relationship between abstraction and everyday experiences. In this program, audience members were invited to engage with artworks, educators, and each other as they consider how conversation shapes the viewing of classics from the Guggenheim collection.
Presented in conjunction with New Harmony: Abstraction Between the Wars, 1919–1939, on view May 10–September 8, 2013.

Schools program in action led by 4 museum volunteers. The school group divides into 4 groups, A,B,C and D. A group is taken on a specific 30 minute tour of the museum by a designated volunteer. The groups swap at the end of each tour, so that by the end of the session they have gone on each tour. The 4 tours involve: Learning about the Migrant experience in Gawler; learning about social life in the Victoriana room; learning about shops and domestic technology; taking an audio tour using an MP3 player and learning about explorer John McKinlay
Brighter Bites is a collaborative effort designed to improve access to healthy, affordable food and provide nutrition education. The University of Texas School of Public Health, KIPP Schools, the Houston Food Bank and Texas Children's Hospital have partnered to offer the 16-week program to third-grade children enrolled at KIPP Explore Academy and their parents. As you can see from the photos, those healthy kale smoothies are a hit!
