Let's delve into the archives to visit a particularily intersting industrial museum: Lesvos' Museum of Industrial Olive-Oil Production.
From the website of the museum: "The Museum of Industrial Olive-Oil Production of Lesvos presents the industrial phase of olive-oil production in Greece. It focuses on the changes brought about by the introduction of mechanical motion on the process of olive-oil production and approaches the contribution of the region's inhabitants to the production process with sensitivity.
Its objective is to showcase Lesbos' industrial heritage in the sector of olive-oil production and incorporate it into the broader architectural, social and cultural context of the period. The Museum is housed in the old communal olive press of Aghia Paraskevi on the island of Lesvos. The buildings and the mechanical equipment have been restored in an exemplary fashion. Thus, you can observe how the equipment functions and how the factory evolved from steam power to diesel engine operation. At the same time, you will acquaint yourselves with daily life at the «People's Machine». "
As can be seen on the left of the frame is the vintage way of transfer of energy from the first phase of industrialization: a central steam engine that drives the production machinery via shafts and belts.

Thinking of my sweet gray asymmetrical boy's traits and fitting those to a probable and fitting day job....I know he would shine as a production manager...he likes his people to be in their places at expected times doing their routines. If not, there is the 'scowl' and verbiage and perfected body language. JAX keeps us in line! Happy Caturday to everyone.

This is an aerial shot of the Tata Salt Plant near Northwich, Cheshire. I believe salt has been extracted in this area for several hundred years, certainly before anyone had heard of Tata. The firm produces sodium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate and of course, sodium chloride.
Orchids to the Orchidaceous — That's the motto of Buford W. Hall, well-known orchid impresario of Los Angeles, who has named his newest variety of the tropical flower "Typhoon" in honor of Dorothy Lamour's new picture. The film, made entirely in Technicolor, reveals the colorful beauty of tropic fauna, and Hall's blossoms will be prominent in the set dressing.
