Program: Fashion Merchandising. Class: Product Development. Instructor Sample. Original Size = 17"w x 33"l. Many of the jewelry samples are from designers on this site. They're very inspiring.
Program: Fashion Merchandising. Class: Product Development. This is the sample "Product Line Inspiration" board (original size 11" x 17" - tabloid) that I used to teach my class. It utlimately influenced the seasonal theme of "Circus Memories". I hope that John Galliano approves. For more of his RTW runway fashions, check out www.style.com, Spring 2008.
Program: Fashion Merchandising, Brooks College. Class: Visual Merchandising. Created in miniature (1/6 scale), this is my instructional, sample display for Spring 2008 (Winter 2008 Quarter). Students were required to incorporate paint chips in their backdrop design. The stripe and floral dress was created by me. This format is a good way to teach visual merchandising in a cost effective manner.

Clooci Studios designed marketing material for AutoGrill to help with the company's branding including key rings, notebooks, and plane pillows.
This vignette was inspired by a mid-century dresser I redesigned several years ago and had sitting in the basement. Viktoria ($45) is my newest mannequin and came from an Escada boutique. She has an elegant, simple pose. I repaired her arm and spray painted her a satin, off-white color. The dress came from, but where else, Thrift Town and was 50% off the $4.00 price. It is very flapper and inspired me to use the bobbed wig from another mannequin. Her shoes are also from Thrift Town and were a wallet wrecking $6.00. The picture / backdrop was created by redoing an ugly 70's picture frame with white pain, silver leaf and antique silver glaze; and making artwork out of black, grey and silver metallic paper. The accessories on the dresser are yardsale finds (minus the textbook).

"New Brights for Autumn: The Mrs. Thurston Howel, III" ... Who says you can't wear bubblegum pink in fall? Program: Fashion Merchandising. Class: Product Development. Katherine is the name of the customer. Each student was given a description in text and requested to make a visual representation of her. This is the sample I created to demonstrate the possibilities. It's also a great exercise in psychology to emphasise the concept of projection. Images were downloaded from the internet, and I believe a few came from this site. I don't remember which ones. If anybody knows, please email me. Thanks.
Kathleen looks very "Garfinkle's" - a once-upon-a-time, specialty department store in Washington, DC, at which I did a visual merchandising internship.

I believe I like creating props more than dressing mannequins. These picture frames are part of Sterling's hallway home, and if you peruse through the other pictures that include Sterling, you see that they change. The artwork was made with cardstock, gradiants of red paint chips, and a 1"-hole punch. The setting was inspired by the 1980's Von Furstenberg-style shirt dress found for $5.00 (a little steep) at Thrift Town. The ankle boots ($4.50) are camel-colored, patten leather and are way crazy. They too came from Thrift Town. The tights are from Goodwill and were $.99. Some of the fake flowers were painted country blue. The earrings were designed by me using polymer clay, rhinestones and glass beads.
