Happy Caturday theme for 4 December 2021 is "Hobbies" (your cat's hobby). Tikki is a fan of new product testing. Here she is enlisting my help in checking out a new item (Kong "Curlz Teaser") picked up at Petco a few days earlier. She has assessed it as both fun and durable - a win. (Product Testing 1 and 2 made a nice collage, also.)

The amazing, fantastic Mold-A-Rama machine. When I was a kid in the 60's, you frequently saw these at tourist traps, museums, zoos and that sort of thing. If you've never seen one in action, you've really missed something. The smell of hot plastic, watching the mold come together, hearing the noise of the hydraulics and pumps... ahh, damn. It was SO cool. I would beg my Mom & Dad for money to get whatever toy one of these made. (They usually made something relating to their location, and often you had two choice of what you could make.)
There's not a lot of these left, and the company that made them went out of business in 1972, but was carried on by others. There's maps and websites that'll tell you where to find a machine. I suggest you find one and treat yourself to an "exclusive product molded in colorful plastic" as soon as you can. (This one is located in the Museum of Science & Industry, Chicago, IL.)

Road Trip 2013 - Day 17 - June 27 - Route 66 Part IX, Baxter Springs, KS
we are making a double hop today from the previous stop at the largest totem pole at Foyil, OK. First, the northbound track takes us across the state border from Oklahoma to Kansas and the town of Baxter Springs ... #etbtsy
XP2009 drops downhill off the Bargo River bridge, before power back up towards Tahmoor as ST24 running from Melbourne Southern Cross station to Sydney Terminal.
In the background is the evening Xplorer service to Canberra, running as SP35.

Reading & Northern APEX-19 passes the CNJ searchlight signals at CP-CRESTWOOD on the RBMN main. The train consists of a heat exchanger from the Air Products plant in Hanover Township, PA. The load is big enough to be spread across two dimensional flat cars, with two extra spacer flats on either side. Unfortunately, the whole Air Products operation here is scheduled to close later in 2017, making shots like this a thing of the past.

Sold in 2018 to Gemiciler Denizcilik Sanayi of Turkey and renamed EVRENYE. Sold in 2023 to KD Bunker of Kaliningrad and renamed NAVIK.
