It rained the entire way to Shoaf, and then the sun came out. We beat the rain, but I heard the youth class faced a downpour.
This was Noah Martz's first race since the beginning of October after breaking his humerus the night before we left for Powerline Park. He finished 11th/50thOA after moving up to ProAm from Open B. This race was by no means reflective of where he is able to ride when completely healthy, but it was a place to start. I think this frustrates him immensely. His bike just didn't want to run right either. Between mud-clogged breather tubes and no VP race gas, I think he said he rode in 2nd gear for most of the race. He even stopped to help a racer whose bike was on top of him/her. His legs hurt from 'walking' his bike through mud holes. His hands hurt from not riding for so long. It's time to rebuild, one day, one race at a time. Yet, it was so good to be racing again! It's been a long winter. We missed Aaron who is still waiting on his new bike.

The City of Fresno Parks, After School, Recreation, & Community Serviced Department is hosting the Mosqueda Summer Pro/Am. Riders can compete in classes for Beginner, Intermediate, Expert, Vet, and Pro. The contest format will be a 45 second intro run and three 30 second runs. Riders will be judged on their intro run and the best score of their three 30 sec runs. The two scores will be combined and the top three riders in each class will receive trophies. The pros will compete for a $5,000 purse paying through fifth place: 1st $1500; 2nd $1200; 3rd $1000; 4th $800; 5th $500. The event/contest is sponsored by Council District 5.

10:30 a.m. Opening Ceremony
10:45 a.m. Beginner
Noon Intermediate
1:15 p.m. Expert
