A quaint cabin on a small island in Montana's Salmon Lake. Was surrounded by beautiful autumn foliage. Now that's some sweet privacy.
Friday's here. Enjoy!
What luck that the days are gone when even cockroaches could be spies in unusual disguises.
But then, how different is it really today?
To this day I still have dreams of rooms like this. Always looking for a lighted, lockable, clean cabin with a clean toilet.
What a waste of precious dream time!
I remember that this was a very cold morning. My only friend was my medium steeped tea while I positioned outside and then back in the car for comfort.
The morning shots are so nice though.
Happy Fence Friday
I was surprised to find a hawk on my back fence, but then again not surprised because there are rabbits and squirrels that play back there too.
As we strolled a neighborhood in Carmel-By-The-Sea on California's Monterey Peninsula, we walked past this fence with interesting vegetation growing on both sides of it. Most of the property lots in this section of town are quite small and cramped . . . and this photograph should give one the 'cramped' feeling. I have chosen to render it as if it was a painting.
An autumn view of a rather nicely located lodge on an island in the middle of Montana's Salmon Lake. Sweet seclusion and privacy.
This Lodge is owned by the University of Montana last I heard. It can be rented out for conferences or special occasions. It had been listed for sale. If only I had a few extra million dollar$......
Heck, I'd be interested in the cabin on the island to the right (in comments). Might be able to afford that.
Your visits, remarks, faves and suggestions are always appreciated.
This type of fence is known as a privacy fence where I come from. It is great for around pools or anywhere where you want to keep out pets and kids for safety reasons. It is also so people can’t see onto your property. Somehow it seems ridiculous to have a ‘privacy fence‘ with slats missing. I don’t know about you, but I can see a car and tires behind the fence. There is also a lot of junk which could be identified if you were to walk up to the fence and look through the slats.
Happy Fence Friday.
I drove by this bouse near Pienza several times before I stopped to take a picture. The cedar trees are blocking the view of the house, and to its occupants, offering only partial privacy from the traffic on the road. I decided that was what made it interesting.
"There is a privacy about it which no other season gives you.... In spring, summer and fall people sort of have an open season on each other; only in the winter, in the country, can you have longer, quiet stretches when you can savor belonging to yourself."

A Lapland Longspur seeks a little personal space as he conducts his business on the side of the road near Prudhoe Bay, Alaska.
Generally speaking, privacy is the right to be let alone, or freedom from interference or intrusion. That is important enough. However, the Latin root of the term shows another and a much less attractive side - "privare" can also mean to steal (that is why the French philosopher Proudhon could say "private property is theft"). I do take my own privacy seriously, but I know as well that it must not be exercised at the expense of others. Privacy is for citizens, not for garden gnomes. 7Artisans lens.

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️❤️❤️
There is a girl in this photo
She was taking selfies
And I barely saw her, she was blending in
I felt a bit bad afterwards
She wanted probably some privacy - and there I was taking in the scenery and capturing it forever, with her in it
😅☺️😊
Sorry I have missed many of you. A nasty little virus decided to pay me a visit and I am just getting back on Flickr.
"Hey Goldy, does it look like I want company when I bathe?!?" An American Goldfinch female crowds another female of the Pine Siskin tribe wanting to bathe alone.
Hi There!
It seems that I am on topics related to butterflies so it is only timely that I caught this Monarch ovipositing on milkweed yesterday morning! I was after this Monarch for at least a half an hour as it zoomed within the milkweeds at the edge of the pond. I didn't realize it was laying eggs until I saw this on the monitor.
I appreciate your time to view and comment on this image, THANK YOU! Have a happy day!

Occupying the best part of a city block, Masaya Hostel outclasses almost all the city's top hotels with its spacious wood-floored rooms, beautiful public spaces and enclosed courtyard garden strung with hammocks and centered around a ceiba tree with a wraparound stage. That it offers such exemplary accommodations and some of the Old Town's cheapest beds can scarce be believed.
Rooms are cleverly designed: layered, varnished pallets, for example, make up some beds and shelving. Even the dorms have a feeling of seclusion, with privacy blinds and charging points, reading lamps and security lockers for each bed. Then there's the bar, the games (ping-pong, pool) and the attached Masaya Bistro for delicious Ecuadorian-international food throughout the day – and this is before you broach the topic of the nightly (and free) activities from dance classes to yoga to Spanish classes to live music.
I photographed this 'forest home' (mansion, really) while visiting the town of Montebello, in Canada's Province of Quebec. Are its owners seeking privacy? Or something else?
