Luke Ramsey is awesome. He creates beautiful, intricate pieces of artwork that include zines, murals, paintings and prints. He also runs Islands Fold, an independent publisher and artist residency in B.C., Canada.

We ran into Luke last summer at the Portland Zine Symposium, and saw him sketching in a Scout Book! Quickly gave him another, and within weeks he had filled it up and sent us images. At long last, here is what the fantastic Luke Ramsey did with the 32 grid pages of a Scout Book.

Awesome! Thanks, Luke.

Fun, funky work from Amy Martino! Amy is a NYC based graphic designer and illustrator, and her bright, textured work has us swooning.

She dressed this Scout Book up in ways we've never seen! Hot pink and neon green paper? Yes, please.

Oh yes, and metallic gold. Don't forget about the metallic gold.

Every day this week, we’ll share a new Scout Book filled with creative goodness from the members of Chicago collaborative The Post Family. Awesome!

Alex Fuller makes beautiful, bright, bold work. In addition to being a partner at The Post Family, Alex is the co-founder of the Illustration Corporation and helped create Ogilvy’s brand design group, 485. Alex, you're a very busy guy!

We very excited that he took the time to fill this Scout Book so expertly with collage work. We even see some letterpress bits and pieces in there!

Okay, that's just a BIT of a markdown. 1 year of the Wall Street Journal AND all online for 99 bucks, down from 576. HALP!

I am happy to see my Picture in an article about street photography in a large German photography magazine "Photographie", October 2017 Issue

In early March, I had a sense that we were about to enter a historic period in our nation's history. Instead of recycling my morning newspaper, I began to save them as a record. Today, I was looking at the stack of New York Times on my desk and I noticed the headline, "I'mJust Living in a Nightmare." It seemed apropos to take a photo.

Detail of Mexican paper money. Making art for print media is truly an art unto itself.

Powell's Books of Portland runs a monthly book subscription club called Indiespensable. They focus on titles from independent publishers, and offer hand-picked gifts with each of the titles they ship out.

This month they worked with BuyOlympia, the online handmade shop, to have Nikki McClure's papercut images grace the covers of these three Scout Books!

Coolest collaboration ever, right? We're so proud to have been part of it!

llustrator and designer, Ben Weiland, made these great Scout Books for 2011. They feature some of his great illustration work and a nice little spot on the back to be filled in with a note and the name of some lucky recipient. Scout Books make such great gifts, fun to give and receive.

Re-mixing vintage illustrations with new flair. I had such fun with this little jester, clowning around with crazy stripes, funky harlequin diamonds and shading.

We shipped out a good many Scout Book samples today! Scout Books above feature designs by: Laura Whipple, Austin Whipple, Brent Wick, and Jess HIrsch.

If we didn't already live in Portland, we're positive these Travel Portland Scout Books would make us want to visit. The talented Amy Ruppel created this two-toned illustrative representation of our fair city: big deer statues, Mt. Hood, evergreen trees galore.

Lovely.

Cutest. Cover. Ever.

We're going gaga over this awesome Scout Book from Loft Home Decor of Austin, Texas. Loft Home customized one of the Scout Books to include a two-color cover. Sweet!

it's quite funny how nowadays photography and the optical impression of social crossroads (television, printmedia) seemed to have turned to utter clean almost aseptic pictures - i'm deliberately excluding its verbal codes - avoiding any possible disturbance regarding noise or distortions, qualitywise and contentwise - sure, there always have been anachronistic turns with real and improvised analogue influences (holga) but over all we approached a race of clinical sterility in my eyes.

but doesn't the exact opposite stand for life, for slow decay: the rather change, inheriting modulation; the state of vagueness, of non-fixation, of influenceability, of persuasibility and therefore its consequences and their impacts?

have a nice day
