VELOUR: The "Ipanema Body"
Despite having Christmas on my own I had a fantastic day. An early morning zoom meeting watching my daughter and granddaughters opening presents, followed by the friendship of neighbours, then a fantastic muddy mountain bike ride to the coast, it felt wonderful to get some hard exercise . then another zoom meeting with my daughters, and lots of cooking to show my wonderful Italian friend Maura a traditional British Christmas dinner for our late night FaceTime Christmas special. Finally some dancing to Toots and The Maytals in a kilt :))))) Pressure Drop is by Toots and the Maytals. Sadly Toots Hibbert died to Covid last year, so sad, he was probably the most uplifting person I've ever seen perform at a gig. Pressure drop too after all my cooking exploits, just need to work out how to eat all this food :)))
This was the view up the beach when I took the last photo. I love mammatus clouds, but I couldn't give it a foreground it deserved. Some days the skies we get are just amazing, and I could watch them for hours. Pressure drop is by toots and the Maytals
A lovely evening spent at Cwm Nash, watching the tide drop and the sun set slowly, with beautiful shore platforms all around. We're off to see Toots and the Maytals tonight, which should be great , so it has to be a track of theirs, and Pressure Drop, always gives good photography so that's fine.

Standing under the pier is relaxing, but then your eyes become mesmerized by all the geometric shapes.

Luckily for me, most of the general public were on the pier itself, so I could take advantage of the open pebbled beach and capture this magnificent structure in all her regal beauty...

Here a view after sunset of the cold water shooting out. From the various spouts the sound of the wind below, inside the mound, is roaring furiously...interesting place!

Kluane Lake has amazing and dynamic natural forces constantly at work, as shown here in ice near the shore. Great pressure ridge from very dense ice expansion and movement, it would be interesting to live here and experience the booming sounds it must make.
Typically Kluane's waters are turquoise in color, as is the very clear, dense winter ice. Kluane Lake appears turquoise due to fine glacial silt suspended in the water, that when the sunlight enters the water it's angle of refraction is altered, causing the light that emerges to look turquoise. Fun little factoid about Kluane...

The work was created by students of the Central Academy's Pottery Studio, who worked under the direction of the artist, Jamie Milne.
