Vrijdagmiddag 12 mei 2023 was ik wederom weer in Leer te vinden. Het was nu al ruim een maand geleden dat ik hier voor het laatst geweest was dus wilde ik weer een gokje maken. de vorige keer dat ik hier was op 31 maart was het ook weer een succesvolle dag. De fraaie 110 511 van Press in de oude DB blauw beige kleurstelling reed die dag voor de ARS autotrein naar en vanuit Emden.
Aangezien de ARS autotrein van Press elke vrijdag van en naar Emden rijdt wachtte ik in het station van Leer af wanneer de autotrein aan zou komen vanuit Bremen. Na een klein half uurtje wachten werd ik dan ook wederom weer verrast toen ik de 110 511 aan zag komen rijden. Het was voor de verandering ook flink zonnig dus kon ik daardoor de heenrit naar Emden wel vergeten, aangezien dat fout voor de zon is.
Ondertussen stond de zon niet meer kops en besloot ik maar gewoon om richting de stek te fietsen langs de hoofdbaan. Misschien zouden er nog wel wat andere interessante treinen langs komen. Dit bleek helaas niet zo te zijn. Toen ik even wat heen en weer liep zag ik dat er nog 2 andere Duitse hobbyisten waarden gearriveerd op de stek. Zij wisten ook van de Press autotrein af en wachtten hier ook de terugrit af. Het zou aldus hun niet lang meer duren voordat de trein terug zou keren.
Terwijl de wolken en de zon elkaar steeds afwisselden tikte de tijd door. Toen ik even in de reisplanner keek om te kijken wanneer de volgende trein zou komen zag ik dat de RE56 ongeveer een kwartier vertraging had. Volgens mijn verwachting zou de autotrein achter de RE56 zitten wat erg jammer zou zijn, kijkende naar het flinke zongat wat er net aan kwam. Echter sloot de overweg verderop toch terwijl er geen reizigerstrein moest komen en sprong het sein achter ons op veilig. In de verte zagen we de 110 511 dan toch aankomen met de autotrein, in het lekkere zongat!
Het is 15:08 als de fraaie Press 110 511 met een volbeladen ARS Altmann autotrein de 3 hobbyisten en de 5 wachtende auto's achter ons ( ;) ) passeert richting Leer Gbf en Bremen.

Mit einem Keselzug aus Lingen (Ems) am Haken, passiert die von der Eisenbahn-Bau- und Betriebsgesellschaft Pressnitztalbahn mbH (PrESS) eingesetzte frührere Bundesbahnmaschine 140 050 (ex-DB-Nummer 140 833; Henschel Bj. 1972) die Ortschaft Eicken-Bruche bei Melle an der Strecke Osnabrück - Löhne.

we recently re-arranged my 'press corner' into a part of our bedroom for many reasons, but i'm excited, it's now against one wall together, and looks much better. i am so excited and inspired to get going this season! next goal: new worktable!

203 322 und 204 314 schleppten 155 279 und einen H-Wagen Zug von Cheb nach Nürnberg-Langwasser, wo dann die 155 den zug übernahm.

Looning north just before sunset, on an exceptionally clear afternoon. Beyond the large white condo (a vacation rental) is San Simeon Point, then Point Piedras Blancas, and in the far distance the Santa Lucia range meets the sea, where Big Sur 'officially' begins.
In the foreground are Ice Age unconsolidated sands, from great dunes that spread inland during the low sea-stand when much of the ocean water was frozen into ice-sheets a mile or more thick, over Canada, New England, and much of northern Eurasia. Dry land extended to the Farallones off future San Francisco! The last Great Warming ended only about 9,000 years ago. Of course, the Earth's climate continues to warm, as does a lively debate over how much of the warming is due to humans, and how much is natural. You won't read much about the actual scientific debate, sadly, in the popular press, as this has become an item of faith among True Believers. But, geologically speaking, we're at risk of a return of the Ice -- and human CO2 emissions may help to keep that at bay. A respectable (but controversial) hypothesis.
