► █░▓ ~ VOTE COLOR, VOTE LIFE ~ 🌅 - OVER JUST A COUPLE OF HOURS it finally begins: the first really free presidential election day in Montenegro. Without heavy totalitarian control, ballot engineering, various obstruction techniques, unfair reporting by the state media, pressurizing on personal basis, illegal influencing and other "victory technology". At least we hope it will be like that.
Soon after 20:00 today, April 2nd 2023, we'll get to hear: do we have the first president of the country since 1945 not coming from the communist nest, or not? Is the person ruling the country for the last 34 years finally sent to where he belongs? This will bear huge, almost historical consequences.
The pre-electoral silence in Montenegro lasts only 24 hours before the election day. I took a stroll yesterday and to my surprise the ban was strictly observed: two big advertising campaign billboards I was going to photograph and show you, have been duly removed from the main square. So I went on and looked if there was anything else left? I saw a poster behind a high window, standard fixed designation at the seat of a party, and nothing else.
However, I saw two graffiti and decided to combine them instead of those massive billboard portraits/advertising removed. The graffiti last longer and are more spontaneous. The one on the left literally names a candidate. The other is ethnic symbol, of the identity which has been under pressure for so many years. These two insignias will - let's put it metaphorically - stand on trial today and one shall win. There will be a major change, or there won't be any change. These two symbols were not my choices, they were the only ones I found left on April 1st. Without my partiality they should speak for themselves.
So I'd like to direct your attention to the following: Which one has more color? Which has more depth and perspective? Which is closer to youth / future and light? Which is obviously closer to Christianity and has more symmetry?

If you live in the U.S. and are eligible to vote, today would be an excellent day to do it - whether you got your rights under the original Constitution (white men), the 15th amendment (black men), or the 19th amendment (all women). The 24th amendment means we don't have to pay a poll tax, and if you're 18, you can thank the 26th amendment for not making you wait till 2012.
Tomorrow, on the other hand, would not be a good day to vote.

One Step for a Nation, One step for Humanity?
Where is the Mr. or Ms. Smith when we need them the most? Maybe this will be the person and he or she has arrived in Washington to help the little guy and do the right thing for our nation & for the world.
Our nation is at a cross road and the path ahead isn't very clear to many of us. Whoever wins this election the road ahead for them will be always full of political situations and obstacles that will always be changing, that will be the true challenge. I pray that those decisions will reflect the best interest of the average individual of this nation.
Or is this just a pipe dream that I'm having again?
for a current occasion...
Now it's time to wear my special T-shirts more often again!

i'm voting for obama but that's only 'cuz the major networks haven't invited ?uest to a debate.
since white women running mates are in vogue these days, i think we can all safely assume i'd be his top pick for vice-president. here are my deliverables:
a) political science was one of my majors in college. i specialized in foreign policy.
b) i can name about 46 supreme court decisions i disagree with
c) i respect the constitution, can quote the bill of rights, and can accurately identify the section that details the role of vice-president
d) i can locate pakistan on a map
e) i am not "ivy league"
f) i know a lot of guys name joe
g) i live in the illa. that should count as military experience
h) i never had sex with that woman
i) i only own one house and i can locate it on a map
j) i bought bill ayers book but i didn't really like it (thus, i was never invited over for dinner). i did meet his brother on a train car once... ironically, it was while i was reading the book.
k) mr okp never tried to secede from the united states
l) i am opposed to putting lipstick on pitbulls. it seems like a form of animal cruelty and, frankly, is a waste of perfectly good lipstick.

I can't wait to end this 4 years of "Human Carnage." Please vote Biden-Harris if you live in the US and you can vote.
I did this in 2016 commenting on the lack of choice in candidates as neither appealed to me. If only I had known what I know now after 4 years or ranting, bullying, hateful, disrespectful , and obnoxious behavior. Please let us regain our American Soul. Nov. 3, 2020.
It would be nice if these would put an end to all of the ads, mail, solicitations of donations and other annoyances, but I don't think that will end for another few weeks.

On my way to the polls !!!! I can't wait to see if the "Maverick" or The "Voice of Change" will be victorious.

I participated in the democratic process, but the election didn't turn out as I had hoped; as usual, big money squashed the regular folks (both locally and nationally). The results are very disappointing (locally) and frightening (nationally).
Alameda, CA - November 2016
This is the second and last week of training I and several other people have been involved in. We will be working for the L.A. County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk's Office. We are part of a Mobile Voting Unit that will be deployed in ten different areas all over L.A., County. There are five teams, so that means fifty locations will have voting in-person facilities. We have spent this time learning the equipment. We learned to use the voting machines, the check-in machines; how to set everything up, from the canopies to the machines to the signs and even the gloves, hand sanitizer and masks to be available to the voters.
This is not the group I am with. They just had a nice looking setup with a nice background. Our group did well (and, like this group, we set up and took down in a pretty fast time), but our background wasn't as attractive. Those photos will show up later.
Today is the day Americans go to the polls to vote for their choice for President of the United States for the next 4 years. This year's election has forced Americans to choose sides in a way unprecedented in our nation's history. No one seems to really love the candidates, and it has been a virtual war of mudslinging, accusations, and investigations, leaving us in an uneasy state of distrust and fear. It might be a while before the United States returns to what we would consider "normal". As the polls close, the tallying begins, and America waits to see whether Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump will be our 45th President.
No matter who wins this election, my prayer is that Americans will remember that that is what we are, and stand together to overcome the division and strife that has consumed us over recent months and years.
May God bless America.

A new portrait tribute of US Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton by British artist Stephen B. Whatley.
As a British citizen with great affection for the USA, he naturally can not vote in the US Election - so was determined to 'vote' with his artistic statement.
The expressionist painter set to work two days after the first Presidential debate, so impressed by Mrs Clinton's passionate, eloquent argument of conscience, delivered with strength, warmth and humour, in opposition to the Republican candidate Donald Trump.
Studying a series of recent photographs Whatley sought to capture on canvas both Hillary Clinton's beauty and presidential demeanour; and throughout, a positive reflection of the American spirit of hope.
In November 2008 Stephen B. Whatley painted a tribute to Barack Obama just days before the US Election which was published in TIME. His work is in private collections worldwide, including many states of the USA; and in public collections including BBC Heritage, The Royal Collection, London Transport Museum, Newman University & Westminster Cathedral. His 30 paintings commissioned by the Tower of London in 2000 are permanently reproduced throughout Tower Hill Underpass that leads to the Tower from Tower Hill Station, as a daily public art exhibit.

"GOP, Generation Of Peace, 1972. Thank you for your support."
A block of political campaign stamps given to supporters and potential donors by Richard Nixon during his run for a second term as U.S. president in 1972. "GOP" refers here to "Generation of Peace," a phrase that Nixon used in speeches about ending American involvement in the Vietnam War, but it also means "Grand Old Party," which, of course, is another name for the Republican Party.

An abandoned barn on US-127 in St. John's, MI is still adorned with a Donald Trump banner several weeks after Joe Biden defeated Trump in the 2020 US presidential election.
The barn has an odd concrete foundation - this stretch of US-127 features many structures like this. In the late 1990s, early 2000s, the Michigan legislature was considering making this section of 127 a limited-access highway. To do so, the Michigan Department of Transportation would have to acquire a swath of property on each side of the existing right of away for access roads. Michigan eminent domain laws require that property owners be compensated. So many property owners raised existing buildings onto concrete footings like this in an effort to artificially inflate their value – thus earning them a bigger payday from the state.
This horse auction barn has been empty for longer than I can remember – and has always featured pro-Trump and Republican campaign signs, calling the authenticity of the “Democrats for Trump” message into question.
