1. तम्बू की मासूमियत
तम्बू अभी बहुत छोटा है। वह अपनी ही सूँड़ से कभी-कभी उलझ जाता है और चलते-चलते अपने ही पैरों से टकराकर गिर पड़ता है। उसकी यह मासूमियत बच्चों को बहुत गुदगुदाती है।
2. मौज-मस्ती और खेल
तम्बू को कीचड़ में सने रहना और नदी के किनारे फुटबॉल खेलना बहुत पसंद है। वह अपनी सूँड़ को “पिचकारी” बना लेता है और अपने दोस्तों पर ठंडे पानी की फुहारें छोड़ता है।
3. एक सच्चा हमदर्द
भले ही वह एक जानवर है, लेकिन तम्बू बच्चों के उदास होने पर अपनी बड़ी-बड़ी आँखों से उन्हें सांत्वना देता है और अपनी सूँड़ से उन्हें प्यार करता है। यह कविता सिखाती है कि दोस्ती के लिए भाषा की नहीं, बल्कि दिल की जरूरत होती है।
4. सीख और संस्कार
इस कविता के माध्यम से बच्चे निम्नलिखित बातें सीखते हैं:
