Allen Moore and Aliy Zirkle in downtown Fairbanks just prior to the start of the 2018 Yukon Quest. Allen and Aliy are partners (husband-wife) in Skunk Place Kennel of Two-River's Alaska.

Allen came in first in the 2018 Yukon Quest, his third win in the race. Aliy is the only woman to have ever won the race.

Eine große, historische Stadt mit viel Charme - Frankfurt ist der jährliche Austragungsort der IRONMAN European Championship.

Dort wo wenige Tage später die IRONMAN Weltelite um die Krone von Europa kämpft, finden in der Wettkampfwoche noch weitere Events statt! Am Donnerstagmittag befindet sich am Mainkai die große Bühne für unsere Kleinen, den Nachwuchs – die IRONKIDS. Kinder und Jugendliche aus Frankfurt und aller Welt sammeln in der IRONKIDS Mainkai-Arena Runden für den guten Zweck. Am Donnerstagabend folgt dann der NightRun präsentiert von Helaba, ein Staffellauf über 5km für Freizeit- und Hobbysportler, statt.

In Frankfurt gibt es viele historische Orte zu sehen Römer, Paulskirche, Frankfurt Zoologischer Garten, Goethe Museum, das alte Opernhaus, zahlreiche Museen und Alt Sachsenhausen.

Athleten starten das Rennen mit einem 3.8km Schwimmkurs in den ruhigen Gewässern des Langener Waldsees. Der Zwei-Runden-Kurs beinhaltet einen kurzen Lauf zwischen den Runden. Athleten erwartet eine Wassertemperatur zwischen 22°C und 24°C. Die Zwei-Runden-Bikestrecke führt den Athleten mitten durch Frankfurt. Die Strecke, welche für andere Fahrzeuge gesperrt ist, ist hügelig und anspruchsvoll. Tausende Besucher feuern die Athleten während der 180km langen Strecke an. Die 42.195km lange und flache Laufstrecke besteht aus vier schnellen Runden, welche schnelle Marathon-Zeiten ermöglicht. Das Rennen wird von Tausenden von Zuschauern an den Uferpromenaden des Flusses mitverfolgt.
