The project includes the expansion of the school’s technical education department with a new, 7,000 SF standalone facility. The pre-engineered building is being constructed on the north side of the existing school. As part of a comprehensive master plan, it will address the most immediate need of additional space for vocational training in fields such as construction, mechanics and welding to better prepare students wishing to enter the skilled trades upon graduation.
Eric has developed a very nice system for registering his steel backed photopolymer plates that is pretty damn good. He uses a pin mounting system where the plate has the holes shown, drilled with a drill press on spots left on the plate during processing, and then the plate is dropped onto the two pins locked up in the chase with the magnetic base. He has no plate creep, achieves position based on his preengineered layout from his computer setup, and he can move with ease from one plate to another, and have register that's dead on with multi-color images. Eric often mixes metal type with photopolymer, and does beautiful presswork.
