Hugh (myself) checking out the crash / forced landing in Broadlands field that occurred on July 8, 1973. Photo taken on north side of Winnipeg River between Powerview and St George Manitoba a week or so later.

Unsure of the circumstances as to why this plane crashed (or crash landed) in the field. Given the apparent lack of damage it looks like it was forced to land (successfully) in the field.

As kids, bicycling out to the Dam to go fishing was definitely a no-no. Fishing was done on the far side in the slightly calmer waters coming out of the generating station. Each year it seemed there would be someone (usually from the City) that would fish on this side near the spillways and would invariably slip on the wet rocks, fall in, and drown. All that said...we occasionally would sneak down and fish for pickeral (wall eye) here in the summer.

The Hunter Douglas PowerView honeycomb shades have so much to offer! You can preset different factors on your phone. This can help prolong the lifespan of furniture and floors by blocking the direct sunlight, but still allows the indirect light that makes a room feel bright and comfortable. By blocking out light in this specific a way, you can also reduce energy bills. The shades can also darken as you drift off to sleep, gently turning the outside light down over time. The sun's worst can be blocked from your home throughout the day, increasing the efficiency of air conditioning by protecting your interior from absorbing the sun's warm rays.
