This vehicle is nicknamed 'Wolverhampton Wanderer'
SMALL dumpy wader that is associated with coastal habitats. Feeds by running along sand, gravel or estuarine mud as if powered by clockwork and then standing still for a second, to pick up food from the ground. Seen from the sea wall Reculvers, where their was a flock of about 20.

This old steam locomotive was placed there as memorial to the time when the Xuhui riverside promenade and park (徐汇滨江公园) used to be a busy warehousing and cargo area.
The locomotive was made in 1987 by the Datong Locomotive Works (大同机车工厂). It is a 2-8-2 "JS" (建设, Jianshe = Construction), in the revised "B" specification, build no. 8145.
Of the "JS" in total 1,916 units were made in two production runs (not only at Datong), from 1957-1965 and again 1981 until the final end of production in 1988/9.

Being South African, I am VERY grateful for electricity when we have it. This country is falling apart, so often we are cast back into the Stone Age when we have the regular power outages. From a photo of two Hadeda Ibises on an electrical contraption up on tall poles, behind my yard.

The Ferrybridge power stations are a series of three coal-fired power stations situated on the River Aire near Ferrybridge in West Yorkshire, England, next to the junction of the M62 and A1(M) motorways.
The first station on the site, Ferrybridge A power station, was constructed in the mid-1920s, and was closed in 1976; the main building has been retained as workshops. Ferrybridge B was brought into operation in the 1950s and closed in the early 1990s.

Coal fired power plant, two blocks with 757 MW in total. One block now in demolition/deconstruction.
I was following my nose and intuition today, went to take a walk in Cruagh Woods. staggered and slipped my way to the plateau and saw the city below still covered in very very low cloud cover. So low , the Poolbeg power station chimneys , were protruding.

When it originally opened in 1914, the Power Station was one of the most advanced power centers in all of Europe, however it will likely be better remembered for its ornate Art Deco architecture than its technological wonder. Parts are still used, except the old transformer buildings and the Art Deco control room.
I have no idea why this isn't in my stream. It was a finalist in Nature's Best this year in the weather category. It was the most intense storm I have come across so far. This is 2 shots at 10mm(16mm equivalent) and just a massive storm. I am told this is probably a microburst.
I also wanted to announce, I will be at the Beaux Arts Festival on the University of Miami's campus this weekend. Stop by and buy something. =)

Miss 17 and Miss 19 are very amused. They refuse to accept that AC DC is actually more popular than their precious Taylor Swift. Miss 17 remarked with icy sarcasm: "Well there must be a lot of old people buying tickets".
