Thank you in advance to everyone that comments and/or faves my picture. They are all immensely appreciated.
This incredible super mummy and Sumatran Tiger is called Kirana. I'm sure those photographers who were regulars at Chester Zoo will know her fondly because she is a natural at posing. I rest my case!!
Kirana is now enjoying retirement at the Big Cat Sanctuary, Kent. She clearly enjoys attention though, even on a hot afternoon and from what I observed yesterday, has settled in really well.
Happy Halloween to you all, I hope you enjoy this little pose gift. More info:
And of course there's music (muhaaaa):

I wish all these little guys were as cooperative as this Warbling Vireo. It would sit just long enough to get a shot. Bucks County PA.

This is an image of Akira from my last morning in the Masai Mara in August.
We had found this beautiful female leopard the night before after searching for leopards for nearly a week. They were really hard to find in the Mara this summer because multiple well known females had been killed by aggressive male lions over the past year.
When we found her she had made two kills and dragged them up a tree, so we knew where to start our outing the next morning. We were the first vehicle on the scene and got this beautiful pose from her before she ascended for the balance of the morning.

...You used to spend the night in smoke, not in the clouds
But you keep your eyes open at night
And you’ll shut down all the curtains when the sun shines
Keep your distance from this light...

What a treat this was. This beautiful, adult Red-Tailed Hawk was sitting on a pole in Las Gallinas WTP. It was almost as though it was posing for our camera. Widespread and common. Apparently has increased in some areas since the 1960s, and numbers now stable or still increasing. In several regions of North America, Red-tailed Hawks are adapting to nesting in cities.

Or the beauty of innuendoes,
The blackbird whistling
Or just after.
