I was waiting to cross the road when Burt spoke to me. He made a comment about the 4 transit cops across the road just coming out of the coffee shop. With coffee and donuts in hand Burt said "somethings never change and was just the same back home in the the US". I asked him if he was just passing through; "yes" he replied "for the last 20 years" and he laughed. "Maybe I should return home some day" he went on to say.

This series contains high contrast portraits taken in a light and shadow environment. The contrast light brings out characteristics out of the faces.
