This place is located on the road from Xanthi to Komotini, just before reaching Porto Lagos's lagoon ... It's full of salt-pans ... Late in the afternoon, bathed by this amazing sidelong emited sun's rays, the whole area dives into a graceful and rather mysterious atmosphere ...
According to my personal opinion scenes like this must be photographed with an apperture value of 8 (needing a pin sharp DOF all around), EV value must be slightly set down (you need rather dark, dull colors to reach your camera's sensor) and the focusing point must be around 1/3 up from the frame's down line, a point most widely known as a hyperfocus point ... When you photograph like this you get an image that doesn't lack detail anywhere ...
As you can see by my EXIF elements, most of the times I like to use my ND Hoya X 2 filter ... When I photoshoot scenes like the above one, this filter actually manages to provide better looking skies to my images ... It has practically becomes indispensable to me, it's not at all expensive and all of my lenses wear it almost all the time ...

The most obvious lens choice for a panoramic landscape view is usualy a wide-angle lens .... But believe me my friends, some of the most interesting landscape or seascape shots can also be taken with a Macro zoom lens, like my TAMRON Di 70-300 lens, especially when there is a minor in size but extremely important in value detail within the overall synthesis ... A detail that you don't want to go unseen ...
And the above seen shot has this minor important detail at its down left corner ...
