Old school portable classrooms are laid to rest in BRB Modular's paddock outside Kyneton, Victoria, before they're refurbished and on-sold or dismantled.
These relocatable buildings are examples of the "Mod 1" and "Mod 2" portable classrooms built by A.V. Jennings from 1961 until the mid-1970's for the Department of Education in Victoria.
The aesthetic was intended to compliment the style of the Light Timber Construction (LTC) state school buildings that were also being constructed at the time. Portable classrooms are used to accomodate short-term fluctuations in pupil numbers, but as is seen in many state schools, they have become permanent fixtures. With constrained maintenance budgets, portables are often neglected in the maintenance cycle of schools. Their lack of insulation, uninspiring design and shabby condition make them less-than-ideal learning environments. The State Government has been slowly replacing many classrooms of this type.

The Technician had a hard time getting the machine to cooperate and finally had to call someone on her cellphone to see what was going on.
What I didn't point out in this labeling of equipment is the focuser that sits between the telescope and the filter wheel. This is a Clement Focuser with a RoboFocus motor attached. I can adjust fine focus from my laptop.

Wish I could remember more about this kit. From the Second World War, contains everything one needs to set up an impromptu airfield. Apparently was airdropped to resistance groups. Wish I'd taken a picture of the information plaque.
This is a one piece portable TtV contraption for my Argus 75 that I custom made to use with my Fuji S200EXR. The contraption is cut from a single sheet of black mat board and closes with 2 strips of black Velcro®. If anybody is interested in a PDF of the templet, I'll be happy to send it to you. I came up with this after seeing Rustman's 4 piece template for a Kodak Duaflex. Thanks Russ you have inspired TtV greatness!
After I cut out the outside shape, I scores the folds with an Xacto knife, being careful to not cut all the way through. Fold it into a box and then add Velcro, with hook on the flap and the loop on the inside.
On the left, a 1959 Olympia SF "ultraportable" and on the right, a 1961 Olympia SM5 portable. The difference in size is obvious; if you really wanted something portable, you went with the SF, but the SM5 was more suitable for desk use. Both typewriters are a joy to use: Olympia really new how to build a precision machine.
This my portable garden started in January, 2012 when temps were freezing outside. I drink a lot of grapefruit juice, so I save the Ocean Spray containers and cut them in half. These plants reside in my western window sill over night and I take them out for sunshine and watering each morning. I will be adding more pictures as my "garden grows."

I cleaned up and re-evaluated my portable palette. Previously, I filled the entire base with pans and half pans, gluing them to the palette using rubber cement. I can get more paint choices in there that way, but it's more difficult to clean. I decided to clean out the palette and try using the pan clips that came with the palette. This required me to evaluate each paint and whether it deserves a place in my palette.
