"Artistry"
by Jacob Lee
I let every thought
Thread a weft of yarn
Weaving through the warps
A tapestry of us
If I make my arms, the home you seek
If I sway my brush, would I capture thee?
If I hang your scars, in a gallery
As a work of artistry
May I clear your slate and wipe your conscience
Lay it on another shelf
I'll be anything you ever ask
I'll take your memories upon myself
If you keep my thoughts and thieve my wisdom
I will find another shell
I don't ever want to be the selfish reason
You don't ever find yourself
I felt every though
Claw the strands apart
Weaving into knots
A travesty of us
If I stay my arms, and I pull your sleeve
If I snap my brush, would you trust in me?
If I trace your scars, with the broken piece
As a work of artistry
May I clear your slate and wipe your conscience
Lay it on another shelf
I'll be anything you ever ask
I'll take your memories upon myself
If you keep my thoughts and thieve my wisdom
I will find another shell
I don't ever want to be the selfish reason
You don't ever find yourself
Watching the needle thread through every pore
She told me shading made everything more
Beautiful but I don't see it at all
I'm more deranged than before
Standing in paints as it pools on the ground
Colours of empathy blending with doubt
Witnessing everything melting around
Until I drown
May I clear your slate and wipe your conscience
Lay it on another shelf
I'll be anything you ever ask
I'll take your memories upon myself
If you keep my thoughts and thieve my wisdom
I will find another shell
I don't ever want to be the selfish reason
You don't ever find yourself
May I clear your slate and wipe your conscience
Lay it on another shelf
I'll be anything you ever ask
I'll take your memories upon myself
If you keep my thoughts and thieve my wisdom
I will find another shell
I don't ever want to be the selfish reason
You don't ever find yourself

These little guys are about 5 mm tall. They came from Madagascar but are now spreading in the forest near our street.
Edit: A week later and almost all of these are gone. Winter will do that to you.

Capture taken during this years June motorcycle trip to the Dolomites. Monte Pore was a smaller peak, that I had not discovered before. But is becoming favorable, as easy to access and not far from the hotel stay. The night had excellent conditions for stars and more...All a good remaing week. Thanks, Udo.
Polypore - Wikipedia
en.wikipedia.org › wiki › Polypore
The name polypores is often used for a group that includes many of the hard or leathery fungi, which often lack a stipe, growing straight out of wood. "Polypore" is derived from the Greek words poly, meaning "much" or "many", and poros, meaning "pore".

...is an accidentally introduced species to New Zealand (Favolaschia calocera) believed to be originally from Madagascar.
The underside of a bracket fungus (probably Ganoderma applanatum) on a beech tree in Epping Forest, showing the pores from which the spores are released. The fungus causes a rot in the heartwood of the tree - this is just the fruiting body.
A close look from a different angle. How cool are these ridges on the side of the cup & the pores on the stem?

These are out in force at the moment. We saw heaps on our walk the other day.
Explored, thank you :)
Porer lighthouse was built in 1833 on the island of the same name, southwest of Istria's southernmost cape. The island is 2.5 km from the mainland and the place of Premantura. Island is so small that it takes just over a minute to walk around it, nevertheless, the walk is magnificent due to sunsets on Porer that are considered to be the most beautiful on the Adriatic
Mushroom-like fruiting body, fleshy, but with pores underneath, rather than gills. Most species are mycorrhizal. Those which are found under exotic trees have been introduced along with their hosts, those in native forests are indigenous. An exception is Chalciporus piperatus, an introduced species common under pines, but sometimes also found under Nothofagus. The saprobic genus Favolaschia has also been included here because it has pores rather than gills, although it is phylogenetically a 'mushroom'.
The Beefsteak fungus is unique in bracket fungi in that rather than forming pores as such, it forms separate tubes. Each tube is a fraction of a millimetre across.
One of the most interesting groups of plants in the world, the famous Rafflesia'a are holoparasitic towards a genus of vines in the south-east Asian rainforests. They have no leaves, stems or roots, with the ginormous flower sprouting above the surface the only visible part of the plant outside of the vine host. This flower can reach a metre in diameter and only lasts a matter of days!
The flower gives off a foul odour which gives it the name 'Corpse Flower', but the purpose is to attract flies to collect pollen for transport, which can be seen in the closer image.
Rafflesia keithii is named after Harry Keith, a British plant collector who helped conserve large tracts of rainforest in Sabah. These flowers can be seen for a very short amount of time by very lucky people like ourselves in the Poring Hot Springs region along the slopes of Mount Kinabalu.
