I'm stampolina and I love to take photos of stamps. Thanks for visiting this pages on flickr.

I'm neither a typical collector of stamps, nor a stamp dealer. I'm only a stamp photograph. I'm fascinated of the fine close-up structures which are hidden in this small stamp-pictures. Please don't ask of the worth of these stamps - the most ones have a worth of a few cents or still less.

By the way, I wanna say thank you to all flickr users who have sent me stamps! Great! Thank you! Someone sent me 3 or 5 stamps, another one sent me more than 20 stamps in a letter. It's everytime a great surprise for me and I'm everytime happy to get letters with stamps inside from you!

thx, stampolina

For the case you wanna send also stamps - it is possible. (...I'm pretty sure you'll see these stamps on this photostream on flickr :) thx!

"Pope Apologizes to Indigenous People of Canada

Pope Francis also promised to visit Canada as part of a process of healing and reconciliation over the church’s involvement in an abusive system of residential schools.

[...] Given the church’s decades of refusal to apologize and failure to honor its financial commitments, some Indigenous people, particularly those who are not practicing Catholics, see little value in a papal apology."

Pope Francis (Latin: Franciscus; Italian: Francesco; Spanish: Francisco; born Jorge Mario Bergoglio. 17 December 1936) is the 266th and current Pope of the Roman Catholic Church, a title he holds ex officio as Bishop of Rome, and sovereign of Vatican City. He chose Francis as his papal name in honor of Saint Francis of Assisi. Francis is the first Jesuit pope, the first from the Americas, the first from the Southern Hemisphere and the first Pope from outside Europe since the Syrian Gregory III, who reigned in the 8th century.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Bergoglio worked briefly as a chemical technologist and nightclub bouncer before beginning seminary studies. He was ordained a Catholic priest in 1969, and from 1973 to 1979 was Argentina's provincial superior of the Society of Jesus. He became the Archbishop of Buenos Aires in 1998 and was created a cardinal in 2001 by Pope John Paul II. He led the Argentine Church during the December 2001 riots in Argentina, and the administrations of Néstor Kirchner and Cristina Fernández de Kirchner considered him a political rival. Following the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI on 28 February 2013, a papal conclave elected Bergoglio as his successor on 13 March.

Throughout his public life, Pope Francis has been noted for his humility, emphasis on God's mercy, concern for the poor, populist causes and commitment to interfaith dialogue. He is credited with having a less formal approach to the papacy than his predecessors, for instance choosing to reside in the Domus Sanctae Marthae guesthouse rather than in the papal apartments of the Apostolic Palace used by his predecessors. In addition, due to both his Jesuit and Ignatian aesthetic, he is known for favoring simpler vestments void of ornamentation, including refusing the traditional papal mozzetta cape upon his election, choosing silver instead of gold for his piscatory ring, and keeping the same pectoral cross he had as cardinal. He maintains that the church should be more open and welcoming. He does not support unbridled capitalism, Marxism, or Marxist versions of liberation theology. Francis maintains the traditional views of the church regarding abortion, euthanasia, contraception, homosexuality, ordination of women, and priestly celibacy. He opposes consumerism, irresponsible development, and supports taking action on climate change, a focus of his papacy with the promulgation of Laudato si'. In international diplomacy, he helped to restore full diplomatic relations between the U.S. and Cuba.

Pope in Poland since World Youth Day event Francis, to the Auschwitz concentration camp 3 was the Pope. In a statement before his visit to Poland in Auschwitz "praying alone to and cry 'request that said Papa Francis," Arbeit Macht Frei "(Work liberates) written at the door alone and came to the camp with heavy steps. Thousands of people were shot "death wall" in front of the Pope praying, kissing the gallows used for his execution drew attention to poles. The Pope then met with 11 people survived the camp in Polish priest St. Massimiliano Kolbein went to the cell where she died 75 years ago prayed alone. The Pope, speaking to no explanation or not on a diary during his visit to the camp, "God, the suffering servant! God forgive this as persecution," he wrote.

Pope Francis called Russia’s attacks on Ukraine a “senseless massacre where every day there is a repetition of slaughter and atrocities.

“There is no justification for this! I plead with the international community to truly commit to ending this abhorrent war,” the Pope tweeted in English, Ukrainian and Russian.

“This week again missiles and bombs have fallen on civilians, the elderly, children, and pregnant mothers. All this is inhuman!,” he said. “Indeed, it is also sacrilegious because it goes against the sacredness of human life, and this comes before any strategy!”

My own opinion:

Pope Francis has made his position loud and clear and unambiguous in simple easy to understand language

Pole Francis is giving the green light to the International community to get serious about ending this ’senseless massacre” in Ukraine meaning He’s endorsing Joe Biden’s characterisation of Putin as a “war criminal” and pure thug AND REBUKING THOSE 450 RUSSIAN MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT WHO ARE CHEERING AND APPLAUDING PUTIN 24/7

It’s now time for all influential world leaders of China, Israel and India etc to condemn and facilitate the end of this “senseless massacre” as a matter of utmost urgency

This war is so senseless and murderous to humanity that whoever participates in it is guilty of “sacrilege”;

Those 80 or so Russian women members of the legislative assembly should be ashamed of themselves and of their boys killing civilians, the elderly, children, and pregnant mothers; indeed all Russians mothers supporting that "senseless massacre” by their sons should be ashamed of them and should call them back home ASAP

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO JUSTIFICATION FOR THIS ONGOING FRENZIED MASSACRE!!!

MAY WE ALL PRAY FOR THE KREMLIN TO GET SUCKED INTO A BLACK HOLE, THE SOONER THE BETTER

A divine synchronicity that Pope Francis’ death falls between Resurrection Sunday and Earth Day? God trying to “get through” to us? Francis’ message is increasingly relevant as we see the suffering we humans are inflicting on the Earth which Genesis declares Good, and which the Gospel says God loves. For those Christians who deny humans are destroying our planet, consider what the 24 Elders chant around the Creator’s “Throne”: “The time has come…to reward those who revere you…and for destroying those who destroy the earth.” (Revelation 11:16-18). They also chanted, “You are worthy, O God, to receive glory…for You created ALL things for your pleasure [KJV].” (Revelation 4:11). How dare supposed believers in a Creator destroy the Creator’s life-giving artistry! To revere Earth and its interdependent ecosystems of all things is to revere its Creator, however the Universe and Earth came to be.

From Pope Francis' preface:

My appeal

13. The urgent challenge to protect our common home includes a concern to bring the whole human family together to seek a sustainable and integral development, for we know that things can change. The Creator does not abandon us; he never forsakes his loving plan or repents of having created us. Humanity still has the ability to work together in building our common home. Here I want to recognize, encourage and thank all those striving in countless ways to guarantee the protection of the home which we share. Particular appreciation is owed to those who tirelessly seek to resolve the tragic effects of environmental degradation on the lives of the world's poorest. Young people demand change. They wonder how anyone can claim to be building a better future without thinking of the environmental crisis and the sufferings of the excluded.

14. I urgently appeal, then, for a new dialogue about how we are shaping the future of our planet. We need a conversation which includes everyone, since the environmental challenge we are undergoing, and its human roots, concern and affect us all. The worldwide ecological movement has already made considerable progress and led to the establishment of numerous organizations committed to raising awareness of these challenges. Regrettably, many efforts to seek concrete solutions to the environmental crisis have proved ineffective, not only because of powerful opposition but also because of a more general lack of interest. Obstructionist attitudes, even on the part of believers, can range from denial of the problem to indifference, nonchalant resignation or blind confidence in technical solutions. We require a new and universal solidarity. As the bishops of Southern Africa have stated: "Everyone's talents and involvement are needed to redress the damage caused by human abuse of God's creation." All of us can cooperate as instruments of God for the care of creation, each according to his or her own culture, experience, involvements and talents.

15. It is my hope that this Encyclical Letter, which is now added to the body of the Church's social teaching, can help us to acknowledge the appeal, immensity and urgency of the challenge we face. I will begin by briefly reviewing several aspects of the present ecological crisis ... letting them touch us deeply and provide a concrete foundation for the ethical and spiritual itinerary that follows. I will then consider some principles drawn from the Judaeo-Christian tradition which can render our commitment to the environment more coherent. ....

Pope Francis greets visitors with special emphasis on the children.

Pope Francis rips capitalism and trickle-down economics to shreds in new policy statement.

“As long as the problems of the poor are not radically resolved by rejecting the absolute autonomy of markets and financial speculation and by attacking the structural causes of inequality, no solution will be found for the world’s problems or, for that matter, to any problems,” the pope said in the 224-page document that essentially serves as his official platform.

Economist Joseph Stiglitz of Columbia University NY: We’ve been brainwashed BY RICH TO IGNORE INEQUALITY. It's no accident that Americans widely underestimate inequality. The rich prefer it that way. How, in a democracy supposedly based on one person one vote, could the 1 percent could have been so victorious in shaping policies in its interests? It is part of a process of disempowerment, disillusionment, and disenfranchisement that produces low voter turnout, a system in which electoral success requires heavy investments, and in which those with money have made political investments that have reaped large rewards — often greater than the returns they have reaped on their other investments.
