Another one from the Iceland poppy (papaver nudicaule / Islandmohn) that I saved from the slugs. Now it shines in a flower pot on the terrace. This bud was really tiny 😄 Happy Tuesday ☀️

"This is a medium-sized bird species. It is characterized by a triangularly-shaped bill, which appears as if covering the entire front zone of the bird’s face, starting from the throat and reaching up to the forehead.
Breeding adult male blue grosbeaks display a deep, vivid, rich blue coloration overall. They have a tiny-sized black mask. The large beak is black-and-silver in color, and the wing bars exhibit a warm chestnut tone."

Photographed in the Rose Garden in San Diego's Balboa Park.
Lighting stuff: My wife held the Yongnuo Flash in an 8.6 inch Lastolite soft box at camer left and just out of the frame. The flash was triggered by a popup flash on my camera.
Other plants, flowers, fruit or thingys that I've photographed using strobes can be seen in my Strobe Lit Objects album. Dropped down to Gerroa for fish n chips (again ..) and to see if those clouds were going to amount to anything .. well they kind of did..
