Looking down on a 3-strand polyester rope, commonly used as a fender line or mooring line for boats. It is often coiled on a dock in a spiral pattern known as "cheesing down". Taken on a dock in Gzira, Malta using a Canon 50mm 1.4 lens, converted to black and white in Lightroom.
I was curious to find something unusual for this group's letter t, and I found this rather fun. I hope that you enjoy!
Textile materials are fibers, yarns, and fabrics made by weaving, knitting, or bonding natural or synthetic threads. Common natural materials include plant-based cotton and linen, and animal-based wool and silk. Popular synthetic options are polyester and nylon, which are derived from chemical compounds.
With heartfelt and sincere thanks for your kind visit. Have a wonderful day, stay healthy, stay alert, appreciate the beauty around you, enjoy being creative, stay safe, 😊😊😍

For "Macro Mondays" group theme of "Spiral"
Taken with permission from M's sewing drawer, three reels of polyester thread all beautifully spiral wound in the familiar fancy way.
Lighting was a bit of an issue - some difficulty to get the thread texture showing and as a result I used just one light. Two different makes of thread produced the variation in spool - the blue and white are about 2½" in size.
I mounted the camera on a table-top tripod and used a helicoid adaper between camera and lens. Exposure was adjusted for the blue thread and suited the white. Very little post processing.
AND - I've returned the spools to the correct drawer!

I used to go to Fry's Electonics and buy four-packs of these. Now, they go through the permanent magnet eraser a few times and then they're landfill.
I reduced the original panorama. It came out HUGE. My poor old Macintosh gagged on it. The CPU usage was floored at 100%.

Handmade Polyester Resin Charm. I picked the tiny flowers inside. These are really hard to photo. I was wondering what you thought about it? I know the photos are the most important part of any web site. I think this might be the best one I took today. There are more photos on etsy to. www.etsy.com/people/myeyestudios?ref=hdr_user_menu
