I couldn't believe my luck with this one, this was again outside the government buildings just up from where I live, so I was happy for the locality. This mama was right by the display light and so I managed to get a good focus and the stance was really Spider like with the forelegs. I see it like this, you have passed over from this life, to emerge at the other end of the light tunnel and what is there but the first of many challenges, this girl being one of them! I was reminded, when I first reviewed it, of the scene from Poltergeist (1982) as Tangina (Zelda Rubinstein) tried to call the Spirits to the light after saying they shouldn't go near it, this contradiction which was never actually explained.

Boyd Coleridge is a gentleman I met in Newfoundland many years ago. He lived in the Trinity area for a good part of his life and was a knowledgeable carpenter and boatbuilder. He died in 2016 at the age of 88 (4 years after I met him). I was heading toward Tegel Airport to try and capture some skylight trails, when I happened upon this abandoned office chair next to the wall of this walk way. So I positioned the chair in the middle and took an LE shot as quite frankly, it reminded me of those modern Asian Ghost movies, those ones that are actually scary and well acted, unlike the Western crap we get today.
I had to reduce the contrast light considerably to take out the background, which hopefully I've done and haven't compromised the image too far, so let me know what you think. Unfortunately, directly behind the chair and up a bit, there was this big, bright red side panel of a balcony that really screwed up my composition; hopefully that is now hidden. I guess this is a bit of unexpected fun, but certainly another for the Dark City Deutschland collection!

i would've loved this shot in film. i'm not sure why but the pixels look like exploding shards of plastic. the camera setting was the same for other ok shots so i can only blame the pixel poltergeist.

Ah yes!!! Those famous words from the movie Poltergeist work very nicely to announce the return of the night stalkers. Not sure if we are allowed to go out do things like photography, but I did want to let everyone know that the Yellow-crowned Night Herons have returned to our area. When I finished my walk last night, I saw one perched on a powerline and saw two more glide into the drainage ditch and take up station. They are here and likely headed north to a pond of waterway near you.

When I saw the improved boolean modifier in Blender 2.91 I knew I had to try it for a spooky idea I'd had in my head. This was astonishingly easy to clean up with the new algorithm they use.

An abandoned and supposedly haunted 17th century farm house near Codnor, Derbyshire, UK. It featured in Channel 4's 'Most Haunted' TV programme, for its reputed poltergeist activity. This image was taken on an open day at the nearby ruined castle.

I have no idea what I am doing with my crystal ball by it has been fun experimenting. I wanted to do light painting however all the videos I watched said you needed finger lights unfortunately I only had Christmas lights, use what you got.
This reminded me of the movie Poltergeist
