New car time, had a beater for a while. Hopefully inspire me to get out and take more photo's again.
gestern gab es in der Nähe ein Poloturnier (mit Rahmenprogramm Springreiten) Deshalb mal kurzentschlossen hingefahren und sich das ganze angeguckt. Gespielt wurde im Stadion statt auf der grünen Wiese.
PS. das Bild ist ein wenig schief, gerade ausgerichtet war es langweiliger, fand ich ;-)

One of the fellows at work discovered a Polo Club up the road from our plant. They play a few nights during the week. A group of four of us went over to take photos.
I actually used a tripod again. It helped my photos.
Although, I still felt kind of goofy with my little Lumix beside the big Canon lenses.
As a photojournalist, Sam Hood provided photos for newspapers including the Sydney Mail, Australasian, Daily Guardian, Sun and Sydney Morning Herald. He covered many of Australia’s landmark events, but on this occasion Hood captured a more personal moment. While covering a polo match, he photographed a man — perhaps a fellow journalist — asleep at the wheel of a car. Venedig - San Polo
San Polo (Venetian: San Poło) is the smallest and most central of the six sestieri of Venice, northern Italy, covering 86 acres (35 hectares) along the Grand Canal. It is one of the oldest parts of the city, having been settled before the ninth century, when it and San Marco formed part of the Realtine Islands. The sestiere is named for the Church of San Polo.
The district has been the site of Venice's main market since 1097, and connected to the eastern bank of the Grande Canal by the Rialto bridge since the thirteenth century. The western part of the quarter is now known for its churches, while the eastern part, sometimes just called the Rialto, is known for its palaces and smaller houses.
Attractions in San Polo include the Rialto Bridge, the Church of San Giacomo di Rialto (according to legend the oldest in the city), the Campo San Polo with the Church of San Polo, the House of Goldoni, the Church of Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari, the Church of San Rocco and the Scuola Grande di San Rocco.

San Polo ist einer der sechs Stadtteile von Venedig. Er liegt südwestlich des Canal Grande in der durch diesen gebildeten großen Schleife. Seinen Namen leitet das Sestiere (Sechstel) von der antiken Kirche San Paolo Apostolo ab. Dieser Kirche war ehemals eine eigene Pfarrei zugeordnet; heute gehört sie zur Gemeinde von Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari. Das Sestiere hatte im Jahr 1171 acht Contrade (Kirchengemeinden); bis 1586 stieg die Zahl auf neun.
2009 hatte San Polo eine Bevölkerungszahl von 5022, die sich auf die Pfarreien San Silvestro (mit San Giacometto), San Cassiano (mit Santa Maria Mater Domini) und Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari (mit San Polo und San Rocco) verteilten.
Das Sestiere ist mit rund 34 Hektar das kleinste der Stadt, birgt in seinen Grenzen jedoch den ältesten Teil Venedigs und den zweitgrößten Platz, den Campo San Polo.
Herzstück ist der Rialto mit dem Mercato di Rialto, dem Handelszentrum der Stadt. Der Name ist von rivo alto (dt. hohes Ufer) abgeleitet und umfasste zu Beginn der Stadtentwicklung eine Gruppe von Inselchen, die Isole Rialtine, die ihr Zentrum um den Rio Businiaco bildeten. In diesem Teil der Stadt befand sich im 9. Jahrhundert auch der erste Regierungssitz, der von Malamocco hierher verlegt worden war. Von den ursprünglichen Bauten ist nach der Brandnacht vom 10. Januar 1514, ausgenommen die Kirche San Giacometto, kaum etwas übrig geblieben.

The Capri Project was code named "Sunbird" and took design elements from the Ford Thunderbird and the Ford Galaxie Sunliner
The Consul Capri included Ford Classic De-Luxe features, including four headlights, variable speed wipers, 9.5 in (241 mm) front disc brakes, dimming dashboard lights, and a cigar lighter. The four-speed transmission was available with either a column or floor change. It was proclaimed as "The First Personal car from Ford of Great Britain" (Ford of Great Britain, sales literature, December 1961)
Engine capacity was increased in August 1962 to 1498 cc (model 116E) and this engine with its new 5 bearing crankshaft was a vast improvement

This photo was a lot of fun to shoot - even though the water was freezing and no one wanted to get in the pool. We had to use Photoshop to hide the nether regions of a few guys because we didn't want to show to much. This photo was a favorite amoungest people who purchased the Men's Calendar.
Shandur Top 3700-M located in Gilgit Baltistan Pakistan. Shandur is often called the 'Roof of the World'. The top is flat, a plateau and can be crossed between late April and early November. Shandur Pass is one of the major mountain passes between Chital and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Every year there is a polo match played on Shandur Top between the home teams of Gilgit and Chital teams from other regions.
Shandur invites visitors to experience a traditional Polo tournament which since 1936 has been held annually in the first week of July between the local teams of Chitral and Ghizer. The tournament is held on Shandur Top, the highest polo ground in the world at 3,700 meters.The festival also includes Folk music, dancing and a camping village is set up. The polo tournament is featured in the first episode of
Himala ya with Michael Palin.
Various teams of Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral have always played the game of polo closest to its original form. During the early 20th century, the British in neighboring India were the patrons of the game. Free-styled mountain polo is arguably polo in its purest form. This version of the game played at Shandur-Top has attained legendary status and is of great interest to international and domestic adventure tourists alike.
