One of the highlights of my photography workshop to Iceland was the day we spent hiking through the beautiful Landmannalaugar Valley and edge of the lava field. This is the fourth of several images I will show from this scenic, geologically active area. This image shows closer look at the most scenic part of the valley through the lava field, with mountains surrounding us on all sides.

It is true that the weather in Iceland changes about every 35 minutes. In this 5th image from our excursion through part of the beautiful Landmannalaugar Valley we are crossing through a very geologically active area, with sulfur-rich steam venting from the ground. At this particular moment the sky was heavily overcast and it was raining. Some of our workshop group can be seen walking through the area.

Get down to the skin. Podcaster, retired photographer, business man, travel guru, CPT, multi-sport competitor, digital media creator.
A few weeks ago, I was listening to Camille Conte's wonderful podcast, , and she mentioned how, as she was packing up the house she grew up in, she had moved her podcast equipment up into her childhood bedroom “ .”
She wanted to do her last few New Jersey shows from that special place in Dumont, New Jersey.
That was very poignant to me. So many of us had our dreams start while in our childhood bedrooms, right?
The dream to be a sports hero, an actor/actress, a scientist, a writer, a radio host, a rock ‘n roll star.
Hearing her talk about those dreams, and knowing she’ll be leaving this part of her life, maybe never to really return in the way she had been there before, struck a cord with me.
So, I reached out to her and asked if I could come up to her house, before she was fully packed up, and do some photos of her in this special place.
She loved the idea.
Click my LinkTree to go to my blog to read more about my shoot with Camille.
And do check out her podcast on streaming services like Spotify and other platforms. The music is always great (she's currently working her way through the top songs and albums of 1971) and the context she provides is wonderful.

I am sorry for being so inactive on Flickr this year. I hope to slowly get going again. In mid-September I went on a 12-day photography workshop with Martin Bailey, a well known nature and landscape photographer and podcaster (Martin Bailey Digital Photography). It was the trip of a lifetime! In the coming months I hope to share with you some of my images from this trip, as well as more images from my earlier trip to China this past spring.

A look at the north side of the 300 block of E. Sixth St., part of Austin's Sixth Street Historic District listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. The historic district, a.k.a. Old Sixth Street and Dirty 6th, runs east from Lavaca St. (2 blocks west of Congress Ave.) to I-35. While the Sixth St. entertainment district extends well past Congress Ave. to the west, and I-35 to the east, it is the historic section known for its clubs, bars, live music, restaurants, and 19th century architecture that made Austin the "Live Music Capital of the World."
Among the notable buildings in the 300 block of E. Sixth is the Ritz. Since the theater's opening in 1929, it has been used as a movie theater, music hall, club, and comedy house. It reopened after renovations in fall 2007 as the new downtown location for the Alamo Drafthouse. The venue temporarily closed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and was permanently closed in 2021 when the Alamo Drafthouse filed for bankruptcy.
Fortunately, the Ritz won't be closed for long as podcaster, comedian, actor, and color commentator and newly transplanted Austin resident Joe Rogan will reopen The Ritz later this year as the Comedy Mothership At The Ritz Theater.

"History, belief, and folklore combine to create paranormal legends that challenge what we know about how the universe works. But are these legends more than just stories? What can we learn about ourselves in exploring the unexplained? Meet Jeff Belanger, the ultimate paranormal insider, and the Emmy-nominated host, writer, and producer of the New England Legends series on PBS and Amazon Prime.
There's a relationship between ghosts, UFOs, Bigfoot, strange monsters, ancient mysteries, and other bizarre phenomena. Through legend tripping we experience a path to our past, a connection with our fellow human beings in our present, and a way to ponder our own inevitable future. Though no one can explain exactly how it all works, few can match Jeff's ability to bring the odd out of the fringe and into our living rooms and near our office water coolers.
Belanger's approach is fun and informative. He brings a lot of personality and knowledge to his work. He's the author of over a dozen books that have been published in six languages, the Emmy-nominated host, producer, and writer of New England Legends on PBS and Amazon Prime, he's the co-host and producer of the popular New England Legends Podcast, the writer and researcher for 15 seasons (so far) of the Ghost Adventures show on the Travel Channel, the host of the widely popular Web and cable talk show 30 Odd Minutes, he's a sought-after lecturer who speaks at dozens of events per year for audiences big and small, and he's a recognized media personality appearing on hundreds of radio and television programs and networks worldwide including: The History Channel, The Travel Channel, Biography, PBS, Living TV (UK), SKY TV (UK), Reelz, The Maury Show, The CBS News Early Show and Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood, National Public Radio, The BBC, Australian Radio Network, Coast to Coast AM, and The 'X' Zone."

Well the flight's been delayed, so lets see who's here at the airport, left to right:
✈️ Ms and Mr Gonewell, super patient and polite, almost to the point where it's annoying. They endlessly let people in front of them in the queue and quietly discuss which stranger looks like which person they know...
"Oh look Mavis, that young man there has one of those, what do you call them, Podcasters I think, just like our young Travis".
"Yes but his is bright yellow dear, not purple like this one".
"Oh you're right dear, so it is"...
✈️ "Heeeyyy alllll, Tad here!! I had an amazing trip at the Annual Pop Culture Event, I got a ton of swag; I'll be doing a proper review once I get home, got some great unboxing to show you guys, omg! But I've stuck here at the airport so this is just a little teaser in the meantime. Don't forget to subscribe if y'all like my vids! See ya soon, luv ya!!"
✈️ Tori gets a brief few seconds in between customers to close her eyes, breathe and think to herself:
Ok, just two more hours to go, then i'll be heading home. Hope I can make it back in time for tonight's lecture (stupid traffic!), what was it again, Divisions of Increments within Unconfined Parameters, I think. Shit I hope I get better marks this semester... "Hi there! Welcome to Icecreams Deluxe, how can I help you?"
✈️ Peter Decker; he must be some business dude, he's like glaring at everyone...not saying anything, but you can feel the rage simmering beneath the surface at his flight being delayed.
✈️ Lyntan and Jaizen, not sure which is louder, their convo or their vacation attire:
"-and then he goes 'Oh sorry pal, was this your rubber?' and he reaches into his pocket and-wait, is there beer at this thing where we're goin'?"
"Uhhh yeah well that's what I-wait, lemme check on me, oh hey brah could you hold me shit for a sec? Me phone's in me other thing"...

My husband is well known for drinking coffee like water, though there’s one thing he consumes more than coffee and that’s news! Here’s a portrait of the love of my life and the man behind great podcasts Asia News Weekly, The Asia Brief, and Asia Now. <3
*Disclaimer: 2 newspapers were harmed for this project. They were given new life and immortality in this portrait.
Jeff Belanger is one of the most visible and prolific researchers of folklore and legends today. A natural storyteller, he’s the award-winning, Emmy-nominated host, writer, and producer of the New England Legends series on PBS and Amazon Prime, and is the author of over a dozen books (published in six languages). He also hosts the New England Legends weekly podcast, which has garnered over 4 million downloads since it was launched.
Always one for chasing adventures, Jeff has climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa, he’s explored the ruins of Machu Picchu in Peru, he’s searched the catacombs of Paris, France (where he encountered his first ghost), he faced his life-long struggle with basophobia on his birthday by skydiving, and he’s been ghost hunting all over the world from a former TB asylum in Kentucky, to medieval castles in Europe, to an abandoned prison in Australia.
Jeff got his start as a journalist in 1997, where he learned how to connect with people from all walks of life. For his work, he’s interviewed thousands of people about their encounters with the profound.
His books include the best sellers: The World’s Most Haunted Places, Weird Massachusetts, Our Haunted Lives, The Call of Kilimanjaro, and Who’s Haunting the White House?. He founded Ghostvillage.com in 1999—one of the Web’s most popular paranormal destinations—and he’s a noted speaker and media personality. He’s spoken at MENSA’s national conference, has given a prestigious TEDx talk in New York City, and provides dozens of live lectures and programs to audiences each year.
Belanger has written for newspapers like The Boston Globe and USA Today, and has served as the writer and researcher on numerous television series including every single episode of Ghost Adventures (25 seasons and counting), Paranormal Challenge, and Aftershocks on the Travel Channel, and Amish Haunting on Destination America. He’s been a guest on hundreds of radio and television networks and programs including: The History Channel, The Travel Channel, Biography Channel, Reelz, PBS, NECN, Living TV (UK), Sunrise 7 (Australia), Bell (Canada), The Maury Show, The CBS News Early Show, CBS Sunday Morning, FOX, NBC, ABC, and CBS affiliates, National Public Radio, The BBC, Darkness Radio, Australian Radio Network, and Coast to Coast AM.
