There 's nothing like cool temperatures and fresh air to raise the spirits. during my forays to the Alabama Hills the temperature can get up into the 100's and when they do, this is where I seek refuge. At around 9000 ft in elevation the difference in temperature is about 15 degrees and there nothing better the a fine mist that floats away from the falls right onto your weary soul.

On the road today :o) It's been a LONG time since I've had time to just sit and listen to music... and oh how I miss it!! I listen to a crazy mix... I think everyone I've ever talked to about music hates something on my list of favorites. Then again, they usually like something too. This is an incomplete list of artists I listen to...

I'm not checking in to flickr to keep up with everyone at the moment, just to keep up with my 365. Please feel free to move on without comment, it's really ok!!

Early last year, I mentioned to someone I knew that I have a great liking for really well done cover versions of songs. In reply, he sent me a list of his favourite twenty cover versions of songs, performed by a variety of artists.

Last September, I noticed I still had that list, and as I looked at the song titles on it, I suddenly thought, wouldn't it be fun to try to interpret each song title on that list into a photo for my Flickr?

I started taking the photos last September. I've been busy since then, so it took me a while to complete the list, and I've only just done it. But now it's finished, I'll gradually post each of the song photos here in order.

I enjoyed looking back through the entire series, after I finished taking the last one. I can see my progress as a photographer in SL through them, because I think they got better as time went on, month by month. I hope so, anyway!

The first song on the list was Porque (covered by Grupo Fantasma). It is sung in Chavacano, a language of The Philippines, which I don't speak, so I sought out an English translation, to better get an understanding of the song and its title. Porque means why. The rest of the lyrics explain the song title, in a beautiful but heart-rending way:

Done with the 24-105 at F4 and Iso 3200.

This is a double opportunity, I had this picture for almost 2 years in my todo folder without touching it. I tried to go B&W on this one, but it never worked. Finally I came up with this 50% Overlay Spicyfy and a bicolor cold/warm filter and now it works for me.

The guy in focus also allows me to have one of my guilty pleasures in the playlist set. Sometimes I have this addiction to eastern south-eastern Klezmer pop/ska.
