Striving for that "perfect" black and white flower shot, whatever that may be. Instead of simulating silver-based emulsion film when converting to B&W, I often simulate platinum emulsion glass plates, as I did here.
I am not a "flower" photographer, and I don't always know what kind of flower I am shooting, but I do enjoy the challenge of getting a good flower shot.
And, on a good day, I can usually tell the difference between a rose and a daisy.

These eight columns form a sculpture in the pedestrians section at the eastern end of Century Avenue, close to Century Square. 8 is the Chinese "lucky number".
This is a "vertigo" perspective of the sculpture in the previously uploaded shot.. And no, I did not lay on the ground to do this: The camera was on a tripod, just 30 cm above ground level, aligned with the axis of the artwork, the lens positioned above the center of the artwork (axis and center are marked by the joints of the granite floor tiles), the horizontal camera adjustment was done using a spirit level.
