C'était l'époque où Darty et Boulanger n'existaient pas encore. Nous allions (plutôt nos parents) acheter la télévision, le "petit" écran (N et B, une seule chaîne) dans ce genre de petite boutique. Peu de choix bien sûr : des marques françaises disparues, Schneider, Pizon-Bros, Grandin, Ducretet-Thomson, Océanic...tous fabriqués en France. Quand on voulait de la qualité, le vendeur nous conseillait déjà du "made in Germany : Telefunken, Grundig...Tout ça c'est fini, place au made in RPC !

Seychelles Blue Pigeon (Alectroenas pulcherrima)
A fairly large, broad-winged pigeon, which has a scarlet crown and forehead, white / grey bib and indigo-blue body – the colour scheme of which earned its Creole name of Pizon Olande, which refers to the Dutch flag. Not surprisingly, it’s other name is the Warty-faced Blue Pigeon. It breeds throughout the year, although mainly October to April. Endemic to the Seychelles, although similar species exist elsewhere in the western Indian Ocean (eg, Madagascar, Mauritius and Comoro varieties). This species was not on Bird Island when we first started visiting some sixteen years ago. In fact my first photo of one was only four years ago in October 2011. Since then numbers have increased significantly, albeit they are still very difficult to find and photograph out in the open.
Watching Pizon (chocolate lab) again this week. He's got the best backyard and Katie always has nice flowers in her kitchen. I just took them outside while JJ and Pi were playing.

This is my friend Katie's house. She's an artist and an interior designer. She's also Pizon the chocolate lab's "mom". He's all over my site. Her house has the most beautiful decor I've seen in any house, and I've been in A LOT of homes!! I think she's got the right job!!
I am so flower and dogged out... I'm wintered out too, so I went to still life. Hope you like.

Este Pizon acanelado, lo pille en el arbol de Aguacate, no tuve que salir de mi casa.Solo esperar mirando por la ventana de la cosina y tomar una taza de café. El arbol de Aguacate y el de Papaya donde retrate el Jui esta bien cerca de la casa y hay otro de Naranja y matas de guineos y platanos. A ver que mas puedo pillar desde el balcon, es muy aburrido descansar.
This little Painted turtle was swimming in Pizon the chocolate lab's swimming pool. Every time I would try and sneak up on him, he would end up in the bottom of the pool. This morning, I came in to their back yard and didn't see the turtle in the pool. I thought maybe he made it down to the lake about 50 yards away. I gave the yard a cursory look around but didn't see him. I went back to the pool and noticed the two skimmers on the side of the pool. Sure enough, he was trapped in one of the skimmers. So I took him out, snapped two shots, then carried him down to the lake and watched him swim away. The adventures of a pet sitter...
This is Katie's veranda I'm always talking about. The lake is to the left, the built in pool behind me. Yeah... Katie's got the life.. Pi and JJ are tearing around the yard at the moment.. this is my favorite place to be all summer. Glad Katie is a traveler. :)

Pizon being his adorable self, after swimming in the pool for an hour. Well, I shouldn't say swimming. He just stands in one spot, bats the water with his front paws and barks. He will do this for hours if you let him. :)
