Today is a pink or purple day at Color my World Daily and the theme at Smile on Saturday is : pigs and piglets ! Isnât that awesome !!
Of course, instantly I decided to go with a flying « egg-piglet » ! I can assure you : they do exist !!! However, flying « egg-piglets » are almost as fast as flying elephants and as rare as levitating eggs ! You have to be really, really patient, keep you eyes on the sky and never blink when you look for them !
Since I wasnât sure if flying « egg-piglets » were allowed for this theme, I just add a mini me made of Lego in a piglet disguise since lately I eat like a piglet and I started to feel like one !
The flying « egg-piglet » in my picture was made by me to illustrate this very rare but existing specie and I truly hope it will make you smile !!

My most fave farm animals the newly born pigs, my grand parents in Hungary always had pigs :)

"Turopolje pigs are named for the 'Turopolje' region of Croatia where they originated during the reign of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy.
The animals are extremely robust and are happy to spend the entire year outdoors thanks to their layer of fat, which can grow up to 15 centimetres thick. That makes them ideal for organic farming with extensive free-range farming.
The increasing demand for lean meat and the Serbian-Croatian war in the 1990s took this breed to the brink of extinction. Two boars and two sows, which arrived at Schönbrunn Zoo in 1994, contributed significantly to the survival of the breed." (Information board text)
The piglets in the picture are either from the litter of 29 June or the one of 5 July.

Got this little piglet several years ago from a craft fair. Hand carved from wood he was too cute to resist.

Piglet's face is 0.25 inches wide.
The last one was born just as we approached, which made for some interesting question from my young Grandson. Fortunately, they went in the direction of my nieces fiance, who is stock manager on this Norfolk farm. 19 piglets...ouch!
This spring i was able to watch and photograph a group of wild boars with more than 30 piglets. They are so adorable to watch how they play and how they behave was incredible. Here is a link to a short clip on my YouTube channel: youtu.be/dsQk6_8oROI

There were 9 of them, as soon as they saw us walking passed they came running across the field towards us. It was just chaos, the photo was never going to be easy as they were everywhere. I managed to home in on these two, one was busy eating, the other was just stood quietly watching the other 7 siblings run riot around the field. No idea where mum was, probably grabbing a break in the large shed at the rear of the enclosure.
