“The piano ain’t got no wrong notes.”
Quote – Thelonious Monk
But sometimes it needs the help of a piano-tuner to stay in tune ;-)

So many choices in my life these days
So much confusion, so many shades of gray
That sometimes I don't know
My left from my right
But I've got these old black and whites
Well, I'm every color that you can paint
A father, a lover, a mother, a sinner and a saint
From Sunday morning, to Saturday night
I've got these old black and whites
Under the spotlight or all alone at midnight
I know I'm right where I belong
It always unwinds me, it finds me then reminds me
That life is as simple as a song
Lovers, they come and surely they go
They fly you so high, say hello, say goodbye
And they leave you low
But that's all right here in these songs that I write
Right here on these old black and whites
So roll over Beethoven
Cause ol' Phil could use some room
I may be out of time and may be out of tune
But you know how it feels to pour out your life
Right here on these old black and whites
Livin life in black and white
- From Romeo and Juliet
The most perfect little music box, in the shape of a grand piano. And it plays the theme song of Romeo and Juliet - oh, the irony...
I absolutely love it. It couldn't be any more perfect.
I had a good day today.

Day 35 ~ 4 Feb 2011. Our 100 year old piano, purchased for us by Dave's dad, when our kids were little. Fred loved to play music, on many instruments, and he thought everyone should have a piano. He searched for quite awhile till he found one he liked the sound of, this one. He went to the man's house to pay for the piano and arrange for shipping to our house. He collapsed on his way out, and died instantly from the massive heart attack he suffered.
So this piano remains in our living room, a tribute to Fred Town's love of music.
Enjoyed an hour or so learning to edit with layers in GIMP. Added some spotlight, removed some reflections, brought back some lost detail in the "YAMAHA"
Week 10/52 - Theme: diptych.
This is a mix between last week's theme (music) and this week theme (diptych) :)
Lines, form and rust as I found it. For some reason I have been running into these beautiful discarded piano sound-boards now for years. This is the third, and for a small price this one came home to live in my garden.
On my way to see a customer a while back in the Glendale Galleria, I walked through Nordstrom. I always liked going that way because I loved listening to the piano being played there. People would normally come and go while beautiful music could be heard along the way. This time was different as the piano player had a large audience who stopped to listen as he played Stairway To Heaven. It was amazing and I'll never forget it. I've mostly outgrown headbanger music, I do still enjoy some variations like this.
Nordstrom has since moved from the Glendale Galleria over to nearby Americana at Brand.
The little olivewood piano in the picture is a music box. It plays Camelot.
