Morning comes slowly to Semangar.
The first light doesn’t shout—it whispers. It glides over the hills, brushing the treetops, pulling soft curtains of mist across the fields. In this quiet place, time feels older, slower, as if the world remembers how to breathe.
Years ago, these fields were filled with the sounds of bare feet on dew-soaked grass, the rustle of coconut palms, and the hum of morning life. Children laughed here. Elders sat beneath the trees, trading stories for silence.
Nothing grand happened. And that’s the beauty of it.
These were the mornings that shaped us—not through drama, but through stillness.
A place where the land taught us to listen.
Even now, as the light melts into golden haze, the memory lingers.
It’s in the way the hills hold their shape like old guardians.
It’s in the silence that speaks more than words.
This is not just a landscape.
This is a chapter—a soft one, worn by time but never forgotten.
Beneath the golden haze, peace is not just felt—it is remembered.
In this quiet moment, nature extends a silent invitation — to step closer, to pause, to listen. Trees speak not with words, but through presence, rustling leaves, and filtered light. This image captures that gentle call into stillness and calm.

this black-and-white image ⚫⚪ captures the silent geometry of an empty corridor 🚪.
Taken with a Semflex 6x6 📷 on Ilford FP4 (120 film) and developed in Ilford ID-11 (1+1), the photograph reveals a space of both order and disquiet.
The open gate 🔓 suggests passage and confinement at once, while the tiled glass wall becomes a vanishing point for memory.
Sachiko -La Chayí performed "Alma Flamenco"--Flamenco Soul at a Minneapolis venue. For those of you who are familiar with flamenco, you know it is poetry, drama, passion, the grit of human interactions all in one. With her were a flamenco singer and flamenco guitarist that together assured an evening of soul stirring music.
I thought this was a very refined and attractive couple. I liked the casual and relaxed interactions they had with one another.
Just prior to this shot, he was listening intensely to his music, and she was enjoying the ride.
Suddenly, it appeared that he heard something that piqued his interest. Just as casually he removed an earbud and offered it to his partner.
It was so casual . . . his offering . . . and her easily accepting .. . that I could not think that his small act of caring was something they did frequently.
I really like to see moments like that, and how fortunate I was to capture that.

An interior shot of "Brookfield Place" in Toronto, Ontario CANADA..note the heritage building on the left. (The façade of the 1890s-era Merchants' Bank building, originally located on Wellington Street, was similarly restored, although it was moved and incorporated into the Allen Lambert Galleria.)
"The Allen Lambert Galleria, sometimes described as the "crystal cathedral of commerce", was the result of an international competition and was incorporated into the development in order to satisfy the City of Toronto's public art requirements. Designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, it is one of the most photographed spaces in Toronto's financial district, and is heavily featured as a backdrop for news reports, as well as TV and film productions. As pictured above, the interior illustrates Calatrava's signature organic style, with a vaulted ceiling that is intended to evoke an avenue of trees."
It is an office complex in downtown Toronto. It was designed by Bregman + Hamann Architects
I love this building's interior..We went to see a Photo Narrative here the other night..(Remembering the 20th Century) The collection of Photo's was gifted to Ryerson University by an anonymous donor in 2005. The collection provides a remarkable visual record of the twentieth centurey's defining moments..It was awesome to see..
I stopped into the Saloon to see a local, international photographic artist, Ryan Coit, whose work I admire and whom I had met before. Ryan is inspiring to me for his Mapplethorpe-like lighting, honest treatment of Queer/Trans Culture, spectacular photoshop designs and abstracts. He wasn’t due to work until much later. I was beat and wanted to get home.
As I left, I saw these two men sitting in an alcove window. There was something about them that exuded a pervasive intimacy that permeated space around them. I felt compelled to tell them that . . .and I did.
They were so surprised that we had a round of introductions, and they told me part of their story as old friends that had reconnected after a long hiatus.
I gave them my card and asked if I could take their photo in whatever pose they wished. Suddenly, Tex seized Moses in this moment of spontaneous passion and I felt privileged to take this photo.
For me the B&W and tight crop displays the raw power a lover’s passion can attain. I altered the perspective of Tex’s already large hand as it seemed to envelope Moses who received his lover’s kiss with visible submissive ecstasy. It was a beautiful moment of love and trust. They loved the preview.
Heartfelt abrazos were exchanged among the three of us, and I left.

Leo’s Yawning Masterclass 1/9
Before the drama begins: Leo, my mother, and a Bollywood tearjerker.
The curtain rises in the kitchen. Leo sits with my mother, both absorbed in a Turkish-dubbed Bollywood drama. My mother is teaching him the language, and Leo, ever the romantic, is transfixed by the weeping heroines. His look says, “Oh, the poor sweet girl…” He has a weakness for ladies in distress — a true artist’s empathy. At this moment, my mother has left the room, and it is just Leo and me. He does not yet know that I have come to confess my neglect, nor that I will soon ask him for a new yawn. For now, he is still immersed in cinema, a critic of melodrama, unaware that his own performance is about to begin.

Leo’s Yawning Masterclass 6/9
The warm‑up: forgiveness granted, rehearsal begins.
At last, a shift. My apologies begin to sink in. Leo relaxes, his body softening, his eyes less sharp. He is not yet performing, but he is preparing. This is the warm-up, the pianist flexing his fingers before the concerto. He stretches, adjusts, and signals that he is ready to work again. I exhale in relief. Forgiveness has been granted, but conditionally: I must remember the lesson. Art is not a hobby for Leo. It is vocation, ritual, testimony. And if I am to be his co-author, I must respect the rhythm of his genius. But this is just a warm-up ritual. The real sequence is about to begin. In the next scene.
