Sunshine is so rare this winter that all cats look at the sun with bewilderment when it makes a surprise appearance. Fynn was no exception when he woke up from an afternoon nap on the kitchen table. This photo was taken three days ago. The weekend has been gloomy as usual, no sunny surprises.
And yes, my cat has a bed on the kitchen table. :)
A shop undergoing refitting. It was a cycle shop from the 1980s and I believe something else for a decade before that, so the Pet Shop facade is probably from the 1960s.

There are many here on flickr. Many of us are bound deeply to our pets, and studies show that is a healing thing. I suppose all of our pet pictures are efforts to show, or even explain our bonds, yet no explanation really serves. Love across species barriers reveals a bit of nature’s soul.

According to the current theme, group members were supposed to take a photo of a pet. I thought of Trudie, even thought she isn't very fond of portraits. She arrived at our home 6 years ago.

Meet gorgeous Teddy, he is our neighbours' Ana & Steve's 9 month cockapoo. I joined them on a walk to the bluebell woods today where we met his best buddy Eddy, I shall post a pic of them both later.
Addie got this new dress, but the cat doesn't care.

If you’re looking for a forever friend, there are a million reasons to give that pet a forever home. But there is a movement happening, which is “Adopt, Don’t Shop”. This basically means that if you’re planning on getting a dog or a cat (or any animal, really), instead of going to an online seller or a pet store, you should go to an animal shelter near you and adopt through there. Instead of shopping for an animal, you are adopting an animal. Just like you wouldn’t be shopping for a child, you shouldn’t be shopping for a pet.
