As a Scot I make no apology for the tartan and shortbread image of a great deal of my shots and this selection covers this in it's entirety!! I'm sure however many may delight in the colour and pageantry of this wonderful occasion. The occasion was a display for Her Majesty the Queen's Diamond Jubilee also the celebration of Perth's newly awarded City Status. Many Pipers travelled far and wide to join this display, (1,000 Pipers) the sound of the mass pipes was truly amazing!! a dream of a day. Constructed in 1908, there are now plans to demolish Perth's historic city hall and create a civic square in its place have been unveiled. The local authority said that if given the go-ahead the £3m plan would deliver "significant benefits and economic growth" to the city. A public consultation, which attracted 2,738 responses, found 43% of the public and 52% of business in favour. The fate of the category B-listed building lies in the balance
Perth Santa Claus Parade (Adrianna's Army-Dec 1st)
Adrianna Foster (awaiting her second heart transplant) rode a float in her towns' Christmas parade to raise awareness for Organ Donation. The theme for this years' parade was `Superheros'. The float was done by Jeff's Windows and Doors. The float was followed by the Perth's Jr Hockey team who handed out green organ donation awareness ribbons and candy canes.
Adrianna says she was so grateful for this incredible opportunity and felt honoured to be their personal Superhero. She went into heart failure in March of 2017. Her first heart transplant was at two and a half and she has been on the wait list since June 2017. Adrianna is committed to staying positive and raising organ donation awareness at every opportunity, with Adrianna's Army.
