The Kosi River, also called Saptakoshi, is a trans-boundary river flowing through Nepal and India, known for its seven Himalayan tributaries.

Kosi Barrage was built between 1959 and 1963 and straddles the Indo-Nepal border. It is an irrigation, flood control and hydropower generation project on the Kosi river built under a bilateral agreement between Nepal and India: the entire cost of the project was borne by India.

Saw this old man in Varanasi who spent atleast half an hour sincerely trying to fix his glasses. It was just a simple piece of thread that had come off and he was trying to tie it on either ends of the specs. The way he went about it suggested that simple piece of thread was the only thread he could afford. Made me realise that things we consider as insignificant holds a lot of significance for many others.

This office building was originally built for IBM and is modelled on a Hollerith punch card. However, the punch card impression is hard to recognise at this angle of vision here and with windows opened.

Early on in the morning of day six of the trip, we were heading into this magnificent perspective.

People often ask why I always go into Central Australia, after all they say, there's nothing out there!

They couldn't be more wrong! How can that be 'nothing'?? I think it's the stunning, stark beauty of it that draws me back every time. I love the red dirt and the flat horizons that I only have to share with my soul mate and a couple of close friends; it's a very soul-cleansing experience.
