I took last Friday off to spend some much needed time with my family prior to my son’s wedding on Saturday. Thank you for understanding!
Because of that family time, I am finishing my attitude of gratitude series today.

The Power of Forgiveness
On June 8, 1972, during the Vietnam war, South Vietnamese forces dropped a napalm bomb onto the town of Trang Bang in North Vietnam. Photographer Nick Ut was there at the scene. He took a photo of a little girl, running away from her home village naked with a look of...
I took photos of a tree on the way to class this morning and thought I was done for the day but kept my camera with me anyways. I saw this on the desk I was studying at tonight and took the picture. I am already starting to understand the purpose of this exercise much more.

You are a Child of God! I witnessed that fact during my near-death experience. We are all children of God. We all have personal power – the ability to make choices and determine the kind of person we will become.

Why is it that so many adults get cranky? (I think too many think that it is not mature or responsible to laugh ) Laughter is wonderful! It has the power to heal! When I was fighting depression, nothing made me feel better than a good laugh!

When I wanted Tony Robbins' advice, he extended his long arm and strong hand to help me up to the stage during a break in his presentation to a packed theater in Seattle Washington. It looks like we're running our lines for a play. He is powerfully listening. That's impressive. I've hiked the Grand Canyon listening to his Personal Power cd's. I'm inspired to do more every time I listen. I saw him speak in Skirball in LA and again at the National Achievers Congress at Comerica Theater in Phoenix in 2016. Tony Robbins mesmerized and energized the entire standing room only audience.
I have learned that there are things that can be given to children that are invaluable; none of which cost a dime.
The most valuable gift is the gift of God in their lives. When parents give this gift to children, they enable their children to have a mentor and an ally with them for the rest of...

When depression raises its ugly head, it can be very difficult to feel hope. That is where faith comes in. It may not feel like having a particle of faith is any easier than having a morsel of hope but even just a grain of faith is an acceptable starting place.
Faith requires action. By now,...

Yellow dahlias symbolize joy, friendship, and positive energy—often used to express gratitude, celebrate new beginnings, or brighten someone’s day. Their vibrant hue and layered petals make them a favorite in gardens and bouquets alike.
🌼 Symbolism and Meaning
• Joy & Positivity: Yellow dahlias are widely associated with happiness, optimism, and sunshine. They’re often gifted to lift spirits or mark cheerful occasions.
• Friendship & Gratitude: In the language of flowers (floriography), yellow dahlias convey appreciation and warmth—making them ideal for thank-you gifts or tokens of affection.
• New Beginnings: These blooms can also represent fresh starts, such as graduations, promotions, or personal growth.
• Spiritual Significance: Yellow dahlias are linked to the solar plexus chakra, which governs confidence and personal power. Being around them is said to promote clarity and emotional renewal.

I took the photos for this panorama in August of 1978, when I was living and working in the Minneapolis area. One weekend, my co-worker-sort-of-girlfriend and I took during a camping trip to the north shore of Lake Superior, and on the way back to the Twin Cities, we stopped in Duluth, where she had gone to university.
I used a 110 Kodak camera (something like this) she had brought to take the photographs, and after the summer was over, and I'd returned to school in Bowling Green, I dry-mounted the photos at school. (I can't recall, but I think I'd left my Nikkormat FTN back in Ohio.)
This mounted panorama has bounced around with me in the eight times I've moved since 1978, and it shows the wear, as well as the slight fading due to being exposed to light. I guess I've never considered it all that worthy of framing so it sits on display on my bookshelf, one of the few photographs of mine that can be seen around my apartment. (That's a whole other subject.) I guess that the only reason I keep it is that it's the only physical souvenir I have of that summer, and of that romance, I guess. Not that I have pined for the woman all this time, but because it was a pretty meaningful three-plus months for me overall.
I also took a series of photographs at the open pit mine in Hibbing, Minnesota during that trip, but I've not determined yet if they can be assembled into a panorama. I should scan them to see.

Everyone has a personal "power word" or phrase that makes you focus your energy and junk on the task before you. In Tie-chee and stuff you may need a power word to focus your energy. I do one Pelvic Power Thrust every day. It's good for your butt muscles.
I am trying to figure out a mystery that relates to words. How is it that we know the profound effect that words can have on us and yet have little knowledge of how important our words are to others?
In heaven, kind and loving words are the staple of that realm. Besides the actual sense of love...
