I enjoyed my most recent visit to San Francisco during the holiday season. One reason in particular was because I was actually able to visit the Museum of the African Diaspora (MOAD). In the past when I have visited they are closed that day, under renovation, etc. But this time I had the pleasure of visiting while they were celebrating the first day of Kwanzaa, which is called Umoja. In the past I have done some research on the celebration and the allure of its rich colors. But this was great as I was able to participate in an actual ceremony and do some in-person research. I actually learned that Kwanzaa is mainly for the children, the coming generation, to have some connection with the ancestral past. And it was also stressed that Kwanzaa is not a religious holiday, but a spiritual holiday; which leads to my whole endorsement of the idea.
In the United States many people celebrate Christmas, and all of the materialism, commercialism, emotionalism, and egotism that go along with the celebration of the birth of Christ. There has to be more. Especially since these isms are not good for many people, particularly those who are not financially and materially able. What about spirit? What about community? This is why Kwanzaa makes perfect sense, for those who need it. In a material culture bling and flashy-ness are most important. But some people see flashy material items as a reward for other achievements. In the right community, with the right leaders Personal Development is stressed first, and rewards later.
During this celebration I could see and feel the sense of community among those who presented and participated. I also noticed a couple of familiar faces from the WWW, which was like a lightbulb moment for me. And though Kwanzaa is said to be about the children, I think it can also be helpful to the adults who teach and interact with them, as a way to strengthen culture and community.

‘Mindfulness Maze: Miracles of the mind’, where science and spirituality meet, can help you with just about every relationship in your life, from work, to your soulmate and especially your relationship with yourself. A methodology is presented that research shows has stopped relapse for those who suffer from depression. Are lucid dreams real, or is lucidity itself the real dream? Could science have finally found the human soul, as part of the mirror cell network? Mindfulness offers hope for people who experience physical and psychological pain, brain injury and stress, along with those with spinal cord injury, compulsive daydreaming, and more. Groundbreaking research is presented, and a link is proposed between mindfulness meditation and the spontaneous remission of one form of cancer, and how this may possibly link to psychoses, diabetes and dementia. This naturally raises the question of future research, such as the possibility of remission for other forms of cancer. Furthermore, new theoretical conceptualisations are presented, including how energy vibration may possibly promote an intuitive human mind. On top of all of this, mindfulness meditation can calm the mind, and it can feel great. So, enjoy!

VIDEO: www.channeledreadings.com/video/crinterview.html . . . Linda Deir, founder of Channeled Readings,LLC, which has been in existence since 2001, but the project (before it had the trademark name; Channeled Readings®) started in 1989. This project found me in December 1988 when I was invited to dinner at the home of my dream teacher at that time.
I did not realize that she, the dream teacher, was into channeling. It turned out that she only invited me over to put me in contact with my ‘guides’ because her ‘contacts-from-the-other-side’ told her that if she didn’t ‘they’ would no longer come through for her.
This is how it all began. From this first contact it turned out that my ‘contacts-from-the-other-side’ had a great deal in mind for me to do. Before this project made its demands upon me I had already encountered a lifetime of vivid dreams that provided me with an acute awareness of reliable information from ’somewhere- beyond-this-world’.
Why me? I am still pondering this myself. I guess it has in part to do with ‘their’ ability to reach me in dreams, while utilizing my architectural and graphic design talents, along with a life of entrepreneurial businesses that I have launched. They acknowledged my business acumen, discipline and passion in all that I set my sights upon.
This project is the most rewarding of them all. Helping people understand themselves while taking the fear and anxiety out of the picture. From this point of view a person can finally get clarity of mind which is the fertile ground to make better decisions. That’s what this project provides and that’s why I do it.
